Description
The Edma filler roller with handle is a filler roller with a handle designed for working large surfaces. The product is optimised for fast, uniform application of filler and joint compound on a large scale. The physical design of the roller transfers material to the surface efficiently and reduces the number of work steps needed compared with using a filling knife alone.
The roller uses dense nylon fibres, chosen for their ability to absorb and release filler consistently. The fibre structure ensures the compound is distributed homogeneously on walls, ceilings and over plasterboard joint tapes. This minimises uneven build-up of material and creates an even base for the next work stage, such as skimming the compound.
User comfort has been taken into account in the tool’s ergonomics. The product has a bi-material handle that gives a secure grip. The handle is also directly compatible with EDMA telescopic poles, which allows the roller to be used in high spaces and along the ceiling line without separate scaffolding. The roller is designed to be easy to clean with water after use.
Intended use:
The product is suited especially to the following uses:
- Applying filler to walls: Spreading filler over large wall surfaces before the actual surface levelling. Lets the work progress quickly.
- Filling ceilings: Transferring material to the ceiling efficiently and evenly. Compatibility with extension poles makes working on ceilings straightforward from the floor.
- Plasterboard joint tapes: Suitable for applying a layer of filler over long plasterboard joints for fitting joint tape.

Edma EDMAROLLER 220 MM instructions for use:
Follow these instructions to ensure a long life and optimal performance of the tool.
Before first use: The tool must be washed thoroughly with soapy water. This removes loose fibres left over from production and stops them ending up in the filler being applied when work starts.
Before each use: Dampen the roller with water before dipping it in filler. A damp roller takes up the material better and releases it more evenly onto the surface being worked.
During use: Roll the filler onto the surface with even strokes. If you fit the roller on a telescopic pole, make sure the attachment is secure. Level the surface with a suitable filling knife immediately after rolling.
After use: Wash the tool immediately with water and mild soap. Under no circumstances let the filler dry onto the nylon fibres, as this clogs the fibre structure. Let it dry in an airy place.
Warnings:
- Do not clean the roller with strong chemical solvents, so that the nylon fibres and bi-material handle do not become brittle.
- Never let filler dry onto the roller.
- Use the required personal protective equipment (safety glasses, gloves) when handling fillers.
- Keep the tool out of the reach of children and pets.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
- Question: What kind of poles does this roller fit?
Answer: The roller is designed to fit EDMA telescopic poles directly. If needed, check the compatibility of the threads or attachment mechanisms of other manufacturers’ poles. - Question: Does the first wash definitely prevent all loose fibres?
Answer: Washing with soapy water before first use removes loose fibres left from the factory very effectively and is an essential step before starting work. - Question: Is this roller suitable for fine fillers?
Answer: The roller is compatible with most gypsum- and polymer-based fillers. Always check the recommended application thickness and method in the filler manufacturer’s technical data.
Recycling instructions:
Sort the product parts and packaging as follows:
- Tool: The metal parts of the frame and the bi-material handle are recycled with metal and plastic collection if they can be separated. A worn roller sleeve taken out of use (the fibre part) is sorted into mixed waste.
- Packaging: Cardboard or plastic packaging materials are taken to the corresponding material recycling points.
