Description
The Painter polyacrylic paint roller is designed especially for general painting of smooth and semi-rough surfaces. The 12 mm pile length of the roller guarantees ideal paint absorption and release, which allows an even, opaque paint surface in one stroke. The 48 mm core diameter of the roller ensures compatibility with standard roller frames, which makes work efficient and ergonomic even on larger jobs.
This paint roller is made with the thermofusion method (heat bonding). Thanks to the heat bonding, the polyacrylic pile is melted onto the inner core of the roller without adhesive. This prevents shedding during painting and extends the life of the product considerably. The heat-bonded construction also withstands stronger solvents well, which widens the range of paint types the roller can be used with.
The bevel designed into the roller is a critical feature for a seamless result. Bevelled edges prevent paint lines and edges forming on the painted surface when the roller is pressed against it. This feature reduces the need to keep smoothing the surface and makes joining overlapping strokes easy.
As a material, polyacrylic is excellent for water-based paints, but thanks to the thermofusion construction, the polyacrylic paint roller also copes reliably with applying solvent-based paints. Thanks to its properties, this general-purpose roller adapts to many applications on interior walls and ceilings where an even, controlled result is wanted.
Intended use:
- Painting interior walls: Suitable for priming and top coats on smooth, filled plasterboard or concrete walls that need even coverage.
- Painting ceilings: The capacity of the 12 mm pile holds enough paint, which reduces spattering and speeds up treating ceilings.
- Semi-rough surfaces: The pile is long enough to reach into slightly textured surfaces such as glass fibre wallcovering or lightly rendered walls.
Package contents:
- 1 pc Painter paint roller, diameter 48 mm, polyacrylic pile 12 mm
Features:
- Thermofusion construction: The heat-bonded attachment guarantees that the roller does not shed or come apart during use, and withstands solvents better than glued rollers.
- Bevelled edges: Both ends of the roller are bevelled, which prevents sharp paint lines at the edges of roller strokes.
- Polyacrylic pile: A synthetic material that picks up and releases paint evenly, recovers its shape quickly and is easy to clean.
- Optimised 12 mm pile length: Gives the perfect balance between a smooth finish and enough paint transfer capacity in general painting.

Painter paint roller instructions for use:
Before first use, it is advisable to wash the roller in lukewarm water or treat it with tape to remove loose dust and any loose fibres left over from manufacturing. Let the roller dry before dipping it in paint. Fit the roller to a roller frame for a 48 mm diameter. Dip the roller in the paint tray and roll it on the grid so that the paint is absorbed evenly into the polyacrylic pile on all sides. Avoid immersing the roller in paint up to the core. Apply the paint to the surface with long, calm, parallel strokes. Thanks to the bevelled edges, you can roll slightly crosswise without fear of lines, but always finish the strokes in the same direction for an even result. After use, remove excess paint from the roller with a scraper, wash the roller according to the thinner for the paint used (water or solvent) and hang it to dry in an airy place.
Warnings:
- Drying: Do not leave the roller exposed to the air for long periods during breaks in painting, so that paint does not dry in the pile. Use an airtight bag during breaks.
- Strong solvents: Although the thermofusion construction is durable, check with the paint or thinner manufacturer that polyacrylic is compatible with very strong solvents, for example epoxy-based ones.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
- Which types of paint is the polyacrylic paint roller best suited to?
Polyacrylic is excellent for water-based paints, but thanks to the heat-bonded construction, it can also be used with most solvent-based paints. - What is the benefit of the bevelled edges of the roller?
A bevelled edge stops the end of the roller pressing a hard paint line into the painted surface, which makes it easier to paint even, seamless surfaces. - Can this roller be washed and reused?
Yes, the polyacrylic pile is easy to clean and recovers its shape after washing. Correct washing and drying extend the life of the roller.
Recycling instructions:
If the roller has been washed completely clean of water-based paint and dried, the polyacrylic pile and plastic core can be sorted as energy waste or mixed waste according to local instructions. If the roller is uncleaned and contains wet paint, it must be taken to a hazardous waste collection point. A completely dried roller with paint on it is sorted as mixed waste. Packaging plastics are sorted into plastic collection.
