Description
The Painter paint roller Ø48 mm 18 mm polyester general-purpose roller is a multi-purpose tool widely suited to painting different surfaces. The core has a diameter of 48 millimetres, which guarantees even rotation and a stable feel while working, reducing strain in long painting projects.
The polyester used as the surface material of the roller is known for its durability and its ability to hold considerable amounts of paint. This reduces the need to keep dipping the roller in the paint container, which speeds up treating fairly large wall and ceiling surfaces. The material is compatible with both water-based and solvent-based finishes.
The 18 millimetre pile of the roller classifies it as a long-pile paint roller. The long pile adapts effectively to unevenness in the surface, so paint can be worked deep into rough or textured surfaces. This length is ideal for painting rendered walls, spray-textured ceilings and sawn or planed wood, as it leaves an opaque paint film and the slightly textured finish typical of the material.
The product is developed especially for general painting, where reliable paint transfer and coverage are needed on different building materials. The core of the roller is sized to fit standard paint roller frames, so working distance and ergonomics are easy to adjust by adding a separate frame or extension pole.
Intended use:
- General painting of ceilings and walls: Thanks to the 18 mm pile, the roller reaches into the recesses of uneven surfaces effectively, which makes it an optimal choice for treating concrete walls and textured surfaces.
- Painting exterior cladding: The long polyester pile holds plenty of primer and top coat, so applying liquid paint or wood stain to rough sawn timber or porous exterior cladding boards is quick.
- Priming: Suitable for fast, even application of various bonding primers to large surfaces before the actual finishing and filling.
Package contents:
- 1 x Painter paint roller Ø48 mm 18 mm polyester
Features:
- Polyester pile: The material keeps its shape in repeated use, transfers paint evenly to the surface and tolerates the most common paint thinners.
- 18 mm pile length: The long pile holds paint effectively and adapts to rough, textured or porous substrates of the surfaces being treated.
- Ø48 mm core diameter: The optimised thickness reduces the rotation speed of the roller and spatter, giving stable control during work.
- Suitable for general painting: A reliable tool for many applications indoors and outdoors with different types of paint.
- Rounded edges: Make painting easier in corners and confined places.
Technical specifications:
- Core diameter: Ø 48 mm
- Pile length: 18 mm
- Surface material: Polyester

Painter paint roller WKL0099 instructions for use:
Before you start painting, roll the roller lightly against masking tape or a roll of tape to remove any loose fibres left over from manufacturing. Dip the roller in the paint container or tray so that the pile absorbs paint evenly across its whole width. Roll off the excess paint on the squeeze area or grid of the tray so that the roller does not spatter and application is controlled.
Apply the paint to the surface with calm strokes, working systematically from top to bottom or with crosswise strokes to get the coverage you want. During breaks, wrap the roller tightly in a plastic bag to stop paint drying in the pile.
After use, clean the roller immediately with the cleaning agent given in the paint manufacturer’s instructions. Water-based paints are washed out with warm water and soap, while solvent-based products need a separate paint remover or solvent. Wash the roller until no more paint can be squeezed out, shape the pile and stand the roller upright or hang it to dry.
Warnings:
When using solvent-based paints or cleaning agents, make sure the work area has sufficient, continuous ventilation. Do not store the roller in direct contact with sharp objects that could damage the polyester pile or plastic core. Take the product out of use immediately if its plastic core has split or the fixing mechanism of the roller is damaged.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
Is a roller with an 18 mm pile suitable for painting smooth doors?
A long 18 millimetre pile always leaves a textured, slightly rough paint surface, so it is not an optimal choice for painting smooth cabinet doors or panel doors. A very short-pile roller or a smoothing tool is recommended for these.
Does the polyester roller withstand strong solvents?
Polyester tolerates ordinary solvent-based building paints and thinners well. With very strong 2-component paints, however, the pile or the bonding of the core may react chemically in long contact, so always check compatibility in the paint manufacturer’s technical data.
How do I stop the roller spattering while painting?
Spatter can be prevented by not pressing the roller too hard against the wall and not rolling too fast over the surface. Also make sure the roller is evenly loaded with paint and has no excess, running paint, by rolling it properly against the grid of the paint tray before taking it to the wall.
Recycling instructions:
A fully cleaned and completely dried paint roller can be disposed of with ordinary mixed waste. If the roller has undried residue or has been cleaned and used with solvent-based products classified as hazardous, it should be taken to a local hazardous waste collection point according to regional instructions. The original packaging plastic or bag of the product is recycled in plastic collection.
