Description
The Rema Tip Top repair kit XL (TT12) is a heavy-duty repair solution designed especially for patching large inner tubes. Besides cars, this kit also covers damage to the inner tubes of heavy equipment such as trucks, tractors and agricultural machinery. The key difference between the XL kit and the smaller kits is the size and number of patches: the kit contains a wide range of patches 35–70 mm in diameter, designed to withstand the stretching and load of large tyres.
The product is based on Rema Tip Top’s cold vulcanisation technology. The supplied SVS-Vulc solution reacts chemically with the bonding layer of the patch and the rubber of the inner tube. This reaction “welds” the materials together at molecular level, so the repaired spot becomes a seamless part of the tube. This is critical for heavy equipment, where tyres are exposed to high pressure and temperature changes. Gluing alone would not be enough to guarantee safety in such applications.
The pack contains everything needed for doing the repair yourself: a roughening tool for preparing the surface, vulcanising solution and a comprehensive assortment of round and oval patches. The multi-layer structure and thinned edges of the patches ensure that the patch flexes with the movements of the tyre and does not chafe against the outer tyre.

Rema Tip Top repair kit XL instructions for use:
Remove the inner tube and locate the leak. Clean dirt off the area. Use the sanding blade in the pack to roughen the area around the damage over an area slightly larger than the patch. Roughening is essential for the vulcanisation reaction to succeed. Apply a thin layer of vulcanising solution to the roughened area.
Wait at least 5 minutes until the solution has dried matt (touch-dry). This is the most important step of the process. Remove the protective film (aluminium foil) from the underside of the patch without touching the adhesive surface with your fingers. Place the patch in the centre of the damage and press it firmly in place from the centre towards the edges so that all the air is pressed out from under the patch. The tyre can be refitted immediately.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
Is one tube of adhesive enough to fit all the patches?
Yes, the 5g tube is enough for the patches in the kit, as long as the solution is applied in a thin layer only to the area needed. Always close the cap immediately after use to stop the adhesive drying in the tube.
Can this be used to patch a truck tyre without an inner tube (tubeless)?
No. This kit is intended only for patching inner tubes. Tubeless tyres need different repair materials (e.g. a repair string or a mushroom plug).
Why is there an oval patch in the kit?
The oval patch is intended for repairing cut or tear-type damage where the damage is elongated. A round patch might not cover the edges of a cut sufficiently.
Recycling instructions:
The vulcanising solution tube is hazardous waste unless it is completely empty and dry. An empty metal tube is sorted into metal collection. The storage box is recycled as plastic or mixed waste according to local instructions.
