Description
The Schwan 18 cm paint roller pack is a complete, ready-to-use solution for demanding interior painting projects. This “Made in Germany” quality set, made in Germany, is designed to offer efficiency and reliability in everyday painting work.
At the centre of the pack is a 180 mm wide paint roller with a durable Vestan synthetic fibre pile. Vestan, a high-quality polyester material, is optimised especially for applying modern water-based interior wall and ceiling paints such as emulsion and latex paints. Its fibre structure guarantees excellent paint pick-up and even release onto the surface, which minimises splashes and ensures a uniform result on the most common substrates, such as filled walls, plasterboard or glass fibre wallpaper.
The 18-centimetre working width of the roller represents an optimal balance between coverage and handling: it speeds up work on medium-sized surfaces but is still agile enough for precise painting of tighter spaces such as hallways, stairwells and behind furniture. The set is completed by a sturdy plastic paint tray sized precisely to the width of the roller, whose integrated ribbed surface makes it easier to level the paint on the roller and makes the workflow more efficient. This pack meets the requirements of renovation contractors, property maintenance professionals and those in maintenance work for durable, functional tools.
Intended use:
This paint roller pack is intended for professional use in various painting and renovation projects.
- Painting interior walls and ceilings: The roller in the pack is optimised for use with the most common emulsion and latex paints used indoors. The Vestan pile is well suited to smooth and slightly rough surfaces such as filled walls, plasterboard or glass fibre wallpaper, giving an even paint surface.
- Renovating medium-sized areas: The 180 mm working width is an efficient compromise between small cutting-in rollers and large floor rollers. It allows fast progress in flat renovations, stairwells or refreshing office premises, for example.
- Priming and topcoat painting: The set is suitable for applying both primers and topcoats on the surfaces mentioned above. The tray supplied makes it easier to dose the paint and load the roller during work.
Package contents:
The pack contains the following parts:
- 1 pcs paint roller (frame and roller), width 180 mm, Vestan pile
- 1 pcs paint tray, plastic, compatible with 180 mm roller
Features:
- Vestan pile (polyester): The roller pile is made of durable polyester fibre. This material is designed to absorb and release water-based paints efficiently, which reduces paint splashing and helps achieve an even result on ordinary wall surfaces.
- 180 mm working width: The medium roller width offers a good balance between working speed and control. It is an all-round size for many kinds of interior painting work.
- Integrated set: Supplying the roller and tray together ensures that the parts are compatible. The tray is sized so that the 180 mm roller fits into it easily and levelling the paint on the ribbed surface of the tray is easy.
- Country of manufacture Germany: The product is made in Germany, following European production standards.

Instructions for use:
Before starting, make sure the surface to be painted is clean, dry and dust-free. Pour paint into the well of the paint tray; do not overfill the tray. Dip the roller in the paint and roll it back and forth against the ribbed upper part of the tray. This spreads the paint evenly on the roller and removes excess paint, which prevents runs and splashes. Apply the paint to the surface with calm strokes. For the best result, the paint is often first applied crosswise (e.g. in a W shape) and finally levelled with parallel strokes. Clean the tools immediately after use. For water-based paints, use warm water and soap. Rinse the roller until the water runs clear and hang it up to dry. The tray can be cleaned in the same way, or the paint can be left to dry and peeled off as a film, if the material allows.
Warnings:
Always wear suitable protective equipment when painting, such as safety glasses against splashes and, if needed, a respirator, especially if you are working in a poorly ventilated space or using solvent-based products. Make sure the work area is adequately protected from paint splashes. When working at height, make sure ladders or scaffolding are safe. Always follow the safety and usage instructions of the paint manufacturer.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
Which paints is the Vestan roller best suited to?
The Vestan polyester pile is best suited to water-based wall and ceiling paints such as emulsion and latex paints.
Can the roller be replaced with a new one?
Yes, 180 mm wide replacement rollers are a standard size, so a worn roller part can be replaced with a new one as long as the frame’s fixing mechanism is compatible.
Is the paint tray solvent-resistant?
Ordinary plastic paint trays are designed primarily for water-based paints. Strong solvents may make the plastic brittle over time. Check the material of the tray if you use solvent-based paints.
Recycling instructions:
The paint tray and the roller frame (if plastic) can usually be recycled in plastic collection when they are completely clean of paint. A metal roller frame is recycled in metal collection. A used roller pile with dried paint on it is usually disposed of as mixed waste or energy waste, depending on local waste management regulations. Liquid paint waste must be taken to hazardous waste collection.
