Description
Vorel grease gun 500 ml is a lever-operated, hand-operated grease gun whose 500 cm³ barrel is filled with bulk grease. The overall length is 300 mm, the body is steel and the lever handle has a PVC coating. Both a rigid and a flexible nozzle are supplied, so you can reach grease nipples even in tight spots.
The working principle of the grease gun is simple: pressing the lever makes the piston push grease from the barrel through the pump head into the nozzle and on into the grease nipple. Lever operation produces higher pressure than one-handed pistol-type grease guns, which helps to open stiff nipples and feed thick grease grades.
The barrel filled with bulk grease suits use where grease is bought in tins or containers instead of cartridges. To fill the barrel, open the barrel section from the pump head and add grease with a spatula or draw it in from a container by pulling the piston.
Intended use and suitability:
The Vorel grease gun 500 ml is intended for grease nipple lubrication of machines and vehicles. A battery-powered alternative for larger lubrication volumes is the Yato cordless grease gun 18V 620 bar body only.
- Heavy industry and industrial machinery: Grease nipple lubrication of bearings, joints and guides on service rounds. The flexible nozzle reaches nipples behind housings.
- Construction and agricultural machinery: Daily lubrication of the joints of excavators, loaders and work machines. The 500 cm³ barrel is enough for several lubrication points without refilling.
- Cars, vans and lorries: Lubricating the grease nipples of the chassis, propeller shaft and towing equipment in a workshop. The rigid nozzle works well on exposed nipples.
Package contents:
- Lever-operated grease gun, barrel 500 cm³
- Rigid nozzle
- Flexible nozzle
Features:
- Lever operation: The lever, operated with two hands, produces high feed pressure and suits thick greases.
- Bulk grease filling: The 500 cm³ barrel is filled with bulk grease, so you can choose the grease grade freely to suit the application.
- Two nozzles: A rigid nozzle for exposed nipples, a flexible nozzle for tight spots and points around corners.
- Steel body: Withstands the knocks of workshop and site use.
- PVC-coated handle: A secure grip even with greasy hands.

Vorel grease gun 500 ml instructions for use:
Filling: Unscrew the barrel from the pump head. Pull back the piston rod and lock it. Fill the barrel with bulk grease using a spatula, pressing the grease in firmly to avoid air pockets, or press the open end of the barrel into a grease container and pull the piston back slowly so that grease is drawn into the barrel. Screw the barrel back onto the pump head and release the piston rod.
Bleeding: If the grease gun does not feed grease, loosen the barrel slightly and pump the lever a few times until the air is out, then tighten the barrel again.
Lubrication: Attach the rigid or flexible nozzle to the pump head. Press the nozzle coupler straight onto the grease nipple and pump the lever with even strokes until clean grease comes out of the nipple. Remove the coupler from the nipple by pulling it straight off.
Maintenance: Wipe the nozzle and pump head after use. Do not leave the barrel empty for a long time, so that the piston seal does not dry out. Store in a dry place.
Warnings:
- Wear personal protective equipment during work (manufacturer’s instruction): protective gloves and safety glasses.
- Pressurised grease can penetrate the skin. Never point the nozzle at your body and never check for leaks with your hand.
- Keep your fingers out from between the lever and the body when pumping.
- Use only grease grades that are suitable for a hand grease gun and for the point being lubricated.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
Can the Vorel grease gun 500 ml be used with grease cartridges?
The manufacturer’s information states bulk grease as the filling method. Cartridge filling is not stated.
What is the difference between the rigid and the flexible nozzle?
The rigid nozzle is sturdy and quick for exposed nipples. The flexible nozzle bends around corners and into tight gaps, for example in the joints of work machines.
Why does the grease gun not feed grease after filling?
Air has been left in the barrel. Loosen the barrel and pump a few times until the air is out, then tighten the barrel.
Is a lever-operated grease gun suitable for thick greases?
Yes. Lever operation produces higher pressure than a one-handed pistol grease gun, so even stiffer grease grades pass through the nozzle.
Recycling instructions:
The Vorel grease gun 500 ml is mainly steel: empty the barrel of grease and take the grease gun to metal collection. Grease residues and greasy wipes are hazardous waste and are taken to the municipal hazardous waste collection. Recycle the cardboard packaging as cardboard.
