Description
Yato battery and charger set 18V is a starter set for the Yato 18 V cordless tool system with two 4.0 Ah Li-Ion batteries and a fast charger with a charging current of 4.5 A. Set YT-828510 is supplied in a carry case in which the batteries and charger travel to the site in their own compartments.
Each battery has a voltage of 18 V DC, a capacity of 4000 mAh and an energy content of 72 Wh. The batteries fit all tools in the Yato 18 V system, so the same set can power, for example, a drill, an angle grinder and garden tools. There are charge level indicator lights on the side of the battery.
The charger connects to 200–240 V AC (50/60 Hz) mains power, and its output voltage is 21.5 V DC. One 4.0 Ah battery charges from empty to full in about 55 minutes, so with two batteries one can charge while the other is in use. The charger’s indicator lights show the charging status.
The charger is a protection class II device with IP rating IPX0, so it is intended for dry indoor spaces. The battery weighs 0.68 kg and the charger 0.43 kg. The carry case has snap locks and a shaped insert.
Uses and suitability:
The Yato battery and charger set 18V is intended as a power source for Yato 18 V tools when the tool has been bought as a body-only version or when the work requires a spare battery.
- Getting body-only tools up and running: The set powers Yato 18 V tools bought as body only without separate battery and charger purchases.
- Continuous work: With two 4.0 Ah batteries, work continues on the spare battery while the first charges in about 55 minutes.
- Sites and service vans: The carry case keeps the batteries and charger together during transport and storage.
- Yard and garden work: The same battery fits Yato 18 V range garden tools, such as trimmers and hedge trimmers.
The batteries fit tools such as the Yato cordless drill 18V 45Nm, brushless motor, body only and Yato cordless angle grinder 18V 125 mm, body only. The separately sold charger with the same technical values as the set’s charger is the Yato battery charger 18V 2.4-4.5A smart fast charger.

Instructions for using the Yato battery and charger set 18V:
Before charging: Check the charger housing, power cord and plug; a damaged charger must not be used. Make sure the mains voltage matches the charger’s rating plate (200–240 V AC). Charge the battery in a dry, well-ventilated indoor space, preferably at room temperature.
Charging: Push the battery into the charger and plug the charger into a socket. The charger’s indicator lights show standby, charging and a full battery. When charging is complete, first unplug the charger from the socket and then remove the battery by pressing the battery locking button and pulling the battery out.
Use in a tool: Make sure the tool’s operating switch is off, and push the battery into the tool’s guides until the latch locks. The battery charge is checked from the battery’s indicator lights.
Storage: Store the batteries at 0–30 °C at about 70% charge, away from metal objects. During long-term storage, charge the battery once a year. Do not leave the charger connected to the mains after use. Transport the batteries in the carry case.
