Description
Yato cordless drill 150 Nm 2×4 Ah set (YT-827881) includes an 18 V hammer drill/driver with a brushless motor, two 4 Ah Li-Ion batteries, a fast charger, an auxiliary handle and a carrying bag. The maximum torque is 150 Nm, and the tool works in three modes: screwing, drilling and hammer drilling. With two batteries, one battery can charge while you work with the other.
In normal mode, the mechanical two-speed gearbox gives speeds of 0–400 and 0–1600 min⁻¹. TURBO mode raises them to 0–500 and 0–2000 min⁻¹, and the impact rate is correspondingly 0–6000 / 0–24,000 min⁻¹ in normal mode and 0–7500 / 0–30,000 min⁻¹ in TURBO mode. The torque is 150 Nm in first gear and 75 Nm in second gear.
The self-centring 13 mm drill chuck holds both drill bits and screwdriver bits. The maximum drilling diameter is 25 mm in wood and 13 mm in steel; concrete and hard brick are drilled in hammer drilling mode with a masonry bit. In screwing mode, the adjustable clutch limits the torque; in drilling and hammer drilling mode, the tool uses its full torque.
The control panel selects tile mode, anti-rotation protection and the three-stage LED work light with delayed switch-off. The charger (200–240 V~, output 21.5 V DC / 2.2 A) charges a 4 Ah battery in about 2 hours, and the battery charge indicator shows the remaining charge. The tool weighs 1.9 kg, and because of the high torque it is always used with the auxiliary handle.
Uses and suitability:
The hammer drill/driver is designed for drilling holes in wood, metal, tiles and masonry and for driving and removing screws and bolts. Hammer drilling is used only for masonry, not for wood or metal.
- Fixings in concrete and brick: Plug and anchor holes in hammer drilling mode with a masonry bit; TURBO mode raises the impact rate to 30,000 min⁻¹.
- Timber construction: Holes in wood with bits up to 25 mm and driving long screws in first gear with 150 Nm torque.
- Metalwork: Holes in steel with bits up to 13 mm at low speed, with a pilot hole and coolant if necessary.
- Tiling and interior work: Tile mode reduces bit slip on glazed surfaces at the start of drilling.
- Long working days: Using two 4 Ah batteries alternately reduces breaks caused by charging.
The set batteries fit other Yato 18 V tools, such as the Yato cordless impact wrench 18V 850Nm, body only and Yato cordless impact drill 18V 120Nm, brushless motor, body only. A suitable extra battery is the Yato 18V Li-Ion battery.

Yato cordless drill 150 Nm 2×4 Ah user instructions:
Charging: The batteries are supplied uncharged. Place the battery in the charger and plug the charger into a socket; the indicator light shows the charging status. Remove the battery by pressing the latch and sliding it out. Charge only in a closed, dry room under supervision.
Battery and auxiliary handle: Slide the battery into the battery slot until the latches lock. Screw the threaded end of the auxiliary handle into the hole in the body and tighten the handle fully.
Selecting the mode, gear and torque: Set the mode selector to the screw, drill bit or hammer symbol. First gear is for screwing, second for drilling. When screwing, start with a low torque setting and increase it until the tightening is correct; the numbered settings are not used for drilling.
Control panel: Button (a) switches between TURBO and tile mode, and a long press changes the work light mode. Button (b) activates the anti-rotation function; with the work light on, pressing for about a second activates delayed switch-off of the light.
Drilling: Secure the workpiece and mark the drilling point. Drill wood and metal without impact and masonry with hammer drilling. For large holes, drill a pilot hole first, hold the tool with both hands in line with the bit and pull the bit out from time to time to remove dust. Change the direction of rotation and the gear only when the tool has stopped.
Maintenance and storage: Remove the battery and clean the body and ventilation openings with compressed air (max. 0.3 MPa), a brush or a dry cloth. Store the batteries at 0–30 °C at about 70% charge and charge them about once a year during long storage.
Warnings:
- Read the user manual before use. Wear safety glasses, hearing protection and protective gloves, especially when hammer drilling.
- Always use a correctly fitted auxiliary handle: the 150 Nm torque can twist the tool suddenly if the bit jams.
- Remove the battery before changing the bit, making adjustments and maintenance.
- Hold the drill by its insulated gripping surfaces if the bit may hit hidden electrical wiring.
- Start drilling at low speed with the bit tip against the workpiece; do not exceed the maximum permitted speed of the bit.
- Do not use the tool to power attachments.
- The outer surface temperature must not exceed 60 °C. Take breaks because of vibration exposure.
- Charge the batteries only with a Yato charger. Do not short-circuit the battery terminals or expose the battery to temperatures above 130 °C.
- Not for use by children. Do not expose the tool, batteries or charger to rain or moisture.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
What is included in the Yato cordless drill 150 Nm 2×4 Ah set? The hammer drill/driver, two 18 V 4 Ah Li-Ion batteries, a charger, an auxiliary handle and a carrying bag.
How long does it take to charge the battery? Charging a 4 Ah battery takes about 2 hours with the supplied charger.
What does TURBO mode do? It activates the full motor speed: the speed rises to 0–500 / 0–2000 min⁻¹ and the impact rate to 30,000 min⁻¹, which speeds up drilling in concrete.
Do the batteries fit other Yato 18 V tools? Yes, the Yato 18 V system batteries YT-828461…YT-828465 are compatible with each other.
Why is the auxiliary handle mandatory? The high torque can twist the tool if the bit jams; the auxiliary handle and anti-rotation protection reduce the risk of losing control.
