Description
Yato cordless drill 18V 2×2 Ah set (YT-8277905) includes a drill/driver with a brushless motor, two 18 V 2 Ah Li-Ion batteries and a charger. The maximum torque is 45 Nm, and the speeds of the two mechanical gears are 0–500 and 0–1450 min⁻¹. The tool drills holes up to 25 mm in wood and up to 10 mm in steel.
The steel-coated planetary gearbox and the brushless motor transfer power to the chuck without wearing carbon brushes. The tool has a 13 mm self-centring keyless chuck, in which drill bits and bit holders are tightened by hand without a key. The ring behind the chuck selects the torque for screwing or disengages the overload clutch in the drilling position.
The trigger adjusts the speed steplessly, which makes starting screws and controlled drilling in second gear easier. The spindle brake stops the chuck when the trigger is released, and the direction switch selects tightening or loosening. The LED work light above the trigger illuminates the work area.
Airflow is directed so that a two-handed grip does not block the ventilation openings, which prevents uncontrolled heating of the motor. The tool weighs 0.8 kg without the battery, the insulation class is III and the IP rating IPX0. The charging time of the supplied 2 Ah batteries is about 1 hour, and the batteries have a charge indicator.
Uses and suitability:
The drill/driver is designed for drilling holes in wood, wood-based panels and metal and for driving and removing screws and bolts. The tool has no impact function, so drilling concrete requires a rotary hammer.
- Furniture and fitted furniture installation: Screwing cabinets, shelves and mouldings with adjustable torque, which prevents the screw head from sinking too deep or the thread from stripping.
- Woodwork: Drilling pilot holes and holes up to 25 mm in wood; larger diameters are drilled after a smaller pilot hole.
- Sheet metal and metal installations: Holes up to 10 mm in steel in low gear with cutting oil; screwing brackets and fixings.
- Finishing and repair work: Screwing plasterboard, fitting hinges and hardware, and removal work in reverse rotation.
The batteries in the set fit other Yato 18 V tools. The version of the same drill supplied with one battery is the Yato cordless drill 18V 45Nm + 18V 2 AH battery and charger set and without a battery, the Yato cordless drill 18V 45Nm, brushless motor, body only. Suitable screwdriver bits are, for example, the Yato impact bit set 37-piece.

- Yato brushless cordless drill/driver 18 V, 13 mm keyless chuck
- 2 x Li-Ion battery 18 V 2 Ah
- Charger
- Instruction manual
Features:
- Brushless motor: No wearing carbon brushes; less friction and heat generation than a brushed motor.
- Two mechanical gears: 0–500 min⁻¹ for screwing and 0–1450 min⁻¹ for drilling.
- 45 Nm torque: Adjustable with the ring behind the chuck; in the drilling position, the overload clutch does not operate.
- 13 mm keyless chuck: Self-centring, tightened by hand; suits cylindrical shank bits and bit holders.
- Electronic speed control: How far the trigger is pressed adjusts the speed steplessly.
- Spindle brake and reversing: The chuck stops when the trigger is released; tightening and loosening with the same tool.
- LED work light: Illuminates the drilling or screwing point.
- Directed airflow: The ventilation openings stay open with a two-handed grip, which prevents overheating and removes dust from the windings.
- Two 2 Ah batteries and fast charger: Charging time about 1 h; one battery charges while the other is in use.
- Yato 18 V system: Compatible with Yato 18 V Li-Ion batteries YT-828461…YT-828465 and chargers YT-828498…YT-828504.

Yato cordless drill 18V 2×2 Ah user instructions:
Charging: The batteries are supplied uncharged. Slide the battery into the charger slot and plug the charger into a socket; the charger indicator light shows the charging status. Charging takes about an hour. Remove the battery by pressing the latch button and sliding it out.
Preparation: Remove the battery before changing the bit. Select the lower gear for screwing and the higher gear for drilling. When screwing, set the torque ring to the lowest value and increase it on a test piece until the screw tightens correctly. When drilling, set the ring to the drill bit symbol.
Fitting the bit: Push the drill bit or bit holder into the chuck and tighten the chuck by hand until the bit is held firmly.
Drilling: Secure the workpiece with clamps or in a vice and mark the drilling point with a centre punch. Start at low speed with the bit tip in the workpiece. When drilling through holes, place a wooden base underneath. Cool the bit with machine oil in steel and with turpentine or paraffin in aluminium; brass, copper and cast iron are drilled without coolant.
Screwing and removal: Use the lowest speed and a bit that fits the screw head. When the overload clutch starts clicking, stop tightening. Change the direction of rotation only when the chuck has stopped.
Maintenance: Remove the battery and clean the body and ventilation openings with compressed air (max. 0.3 MPa), a brush or a dry cloth. Store the batteries at 0–30 °C at about 70% charge, and charge a battery in long-term storage once a year.
Warnings:
- Read the user manual before use. Wear safety glasses, hearing protection and protective gloves.
- Remove the battery before changing the bit, making adjustments and maintenance.
- Hold the drill by the insulated gripping surfaces if the bit may hit hidden electrical cables.
- Do not use the torque settings when drilling; operation of the overload clutch can break the bit or the workpiece.
- With long bits, always start at low speed with the bit tip against the workpiece; a long bit rotating freely can bend.
- Do not overload the tool; the temperature of the outer surfaces must not exceed 60 °C.
- Charge the batteries only with the supplied charger in a dry place under adult supervision. Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
- Not for use by children. Not waterproof (IPX0), not for rain or damp rooms.
