Description
Blue Dolphin joining tape NDR (Polyhanging & Seaming Tape) is an advanced tape designed for professional use that revolutionises the handling of protective plastics on sites. At the heart of the product is a unique “Hybrid” technology that combines the best sides of two different material worlds: the tape has the durability and flexibility of plastic tape but is easy to tear by hand just like paper tape. This speeds up work considerably, as separate cutters are not needed when putting up protection.
This tape has been developed especially for hanging protective plastics and films and sealing their seams. Its adhesive is optimised to adhere strongly to plastic surfaces, but its most important property is 14-day clean removability. The tape can be removed from surfaces within two weeks without leaving sticky adhesive residue behind or damaging the surface underneath. This makes it a safe choice for temporary protection on renovation and painting jobs.
Blue Dolphin joining tape has a water-resistant backing, which guarantees that the protection holds even in damp conditions or when paint splashes hit the seam. Its 60 mm width (Extra-wide) gives more bonding area than standard tapes, which makes it easier to put up plastic films and ensures tighter seams. In addition, the edge of the tape is designed so that it can create razor-sharp paint lines if necessary, when the tape is used for masking.
Intended use:
- Hanging protective plastics: Ideal for fixing dust walls and protective plastics to walls, ceilings or frames. The “Hybrid” construction of the tape holds even heavier protective plastics reliably in place. The 14-day UV resistance and clean removability guarantee that when the protection is taken down, frames and surfaces stay clean without laborious adhesive removal.
- Seaming plastic films: Joining protective plastics and floor protection into one tight surface. The wide 60 mm profile makes joining two plastic films quick and easy. The water-resistant backing ensures that paint or liquids cannot run through the seams onto the floor or the surface being protected.
- Masking and protection when painting: Suitable for making precise paint lines while holding the protective plastic in place. Although the product is optimised for fixing plastics, its quality adhesive and thin but durable hybrid backing also allow precise masking when painting (Razor-sharp paint lines), preventing paint from spreading.

Blue Dolphin joining tape NDR instructions for use:
Surface preparation is important for the best adhesion. Make sure the surface the tape is attached to (e.g. a door frame, wall or another plastic film) is clean, dry and dust-free.
Application and cutting: Unroll the tape and place it in the required position. Press the tape on lightly. Thanks to the Hybrid technology, you do not need scissors or a knife: just take hold of the tape and tear it across by hand where you want. This speeds up work, especially when you are on a ladder or holding the protective plastic in place with your other hand.
Fixing protective plastic: Attach the upper edge of the tape to the wall or ceiling and the lower edge to the protective plastic. Press the tape down tightly all the way along to ensure it is dust-tight. For seaming, place two plastic films side by side or overlapping and tape the seam closed across the width of the tape. Remove the tape no later than 14 days later by pulling it calmly and evenly off the surface at an angle of about 45 degrees.
Warnings:
- Removal time: Although the tape is designed for 14-day clean removal (Clean Removal), always remove the tape as soon as the work is finished. Tape left on for too long (over 14 days) can leave adhesive residue, especially if it is exposed to direct sunlight or high temperatures.
- Delicate surfaces: Although the tape is gentle, always test it first on a small, inconspicuous area if you are attaching it to delicate surfaces such as wallpaper or a freshly painted surface (make sure the paint is completely dry).
- Not for load-bearing structures: The product is intended for hanging and seaming protective plastics, not for permanently fixing heavy items.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
Is this tape double-sided?
No, this is a single-sided tape. It is designed to fix protective plastics to surfaces or to seam two plastics together by taping over the top.
What does “Hybrid” technology mean in this tape?
Hybrid technology means that the backing of the tape combines the best properties of plastic and paper. It is durable and waterproof like plastic tape, but its construction allows it to be torn easily by hand without stretching, just like paper tape.
Does the tape leave adhesive marks?
The product is “Job-rated” for 14-day clean removal. When the tape is removed within 14 days of application, it comes off most surfaces cleanly without leaving adhesive residue.
Recycling instructions:
Used tape is sorted as mixed waste (or energy waste according to local rules), as it contains adhesives and hybrid material. The cardboard core of the tape and any packaging cardboard are recycled in cardboard collection.
