Description
This filler roller sleeve made of nylon fibres is designed for use with the 80 mm EdmaRoller frame. Its main purpose is fast, even application of filler (joint compound) to various interior surfaces. The fibre structure of the roller ensures the compound is distributed homogeneously, which optimises the workflow and reduces material waste compared with traditional application methods.
The fibre material of the roller is durable and designed to withstand the demands fillers place on it. It absorbs and releases compound efficiently, which allows a uniform layer in one pass. This property is especially useful when finishing walls and ceilings, where an even surface is critical to the end result.
Easy cleaning is a central part of this roller sleeve’s design. The roller is easy to clean with just soapy water straight after use. This extends the life of the roller and ensures the fibre structure stays in optimal condition for the next use.
Intended use:
- Applying filler to walls: The roller is used to spread filler evenly over large wall surfaces before levelling with a filling knife or sanding. The nylon fibres ensure the layer is even and covers well.
- Finishing ceilings: Filling ceilings requires precise control of the material. The roller sleeve lets you apply filler to the ceiling without excessive splashing, creating a good base for the final levelling.
- Plasterboard joint tapes: The roller is also suitable for applying filler over plasterboard joints before fixing paper or fibreglass joint tape. Its 80 mm width is optimal for covering standard joint tapes.

Edma filler roller sleeve instructions for use:
These instructions describe the correct use and care of the product for the best result and durability.
Before first use:
It is recommended to wash the roller thoroughly with soapy water. This removes any loose fibres that could otherwise end up in the filler being applied.
Before each use:
Dampen the roller lightly with water before you start dipping it in the filler tray. This improves the fibres’ ability to absorb filler and helps the compound release more evenly onto the surface.
During use:
Fit the roller on an 8 mm push-in frame. Dip the roller in filler and roll it with even strokes onto the wall, ceiling or joint tape area. Make sure the roller does not dry out completely during use. Apply a suitable layer of compound and level the surface straight afterwards with a suitable filling knife.
After use (maintenance):
Clean the roller immediately after finishing work under running water with the help of soap. Remove all filler from the fibres. Do not let filler dry into the roller fibres. Let the roller dry in an airy place standing upright (without pressing the fibres) or hanging.
Warnings:
- Do not use solvents to clean the roller; they can damage the nylon fibres.
- Do not let filler dry into the roller fibres, as this makes the roller unusable.
- Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
- Use suitable protective equipment (e.g. safety glasses, a mask and gloves) when handling filler and sanding.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
- Question: Can this roller be used with all fillers?
Answer: Yes, the roller is designed for most common gypsum- and polymer-based fillers. Always check the filler manufacturer’s recommendations on application methods, however. - Question: How many times can the roller be cleaned and reused?
Answer: The life of the roller depends on maintenance. If the roller is cleaned carefully straight after use, it lasts for several uses. If filler dries into the fibres, the roller must be replaced. - Question: Why should the roller be dampened before use?
Answer: Dampening ‘opens’ the nylon fibres and helps the filler soak into them, which guarantees more even and controlled application. It also makes cleaning easier later.
Recycling instructions:
For recycling the product packaging and the product itself:
- Packaging: Packaging materials should be recycled with plastic collection.
- Used roller: A worn or damaged nylon roller must be disposed of as mixed waste or energy waste according to local waste management regulations. The inner part (plastic) can be recycled with plastic collection if it can be separated from the fibre part.
