Description
EMALIA Casting epoxy casting kit 3 kg is a two-component epoxy resin designed especially for thick castings. Its composition lets you cast massive pieces in one go, which makes it suitable for jobs that need a deep layer thickness. The resin has a low viscosity, which helps air bubbles rise to the surface before curing and ensures an even structure inside the piece.
In practice, the resin and hardener are mixed together, following the ratio given by the manufacturer exactly. The polymerisation reaction of the epoxy resin is controlled, which reduces the risk of exothermic heat build-up in thick castings. After curing, the product forms a clear, mechanically durable and dimensionally accurate structure that can be worked further.
EMALIA Casting epoxy casting kit 3 kg is packed as a set that is enough for making items of considerable size. The material is compatible with various fillers and colourants, which lets you modify the appearance and properties of the finished piece during production. The cured surface keeps its clarity and hardness in normal conditions of use.
This epoxy casting kit is technically compatible with mould materials that withstand epoxy resins. The low shrinkage of the material during curing ensures that the cast piece keeps its specified dimensions and shape. The product is designed so that handling is repeatable and the result is reliable when the temperature and mixing instructions are followed.
Intended use:
- Deep castings: Casting large, thick items such as table tops or massive decorative pieces in moulds.
- Embedding objects: Encapsulating and embedding objects such as pieces of wood, natural materials or other solid parts in clear epoxy resin.
- Large artworks: Creating complex structures and sculptures that need a deep casting layer.
Package contents:
- Component A (resin)
- Component B (hardener)
- Instructions for use
Features:
- Crystal clear and UV-resistant: Guarantees a long-lasting clear result.
- Professional-grade performance: Especially for large casting work that needs top quality and durability.
- Versatile use: Excellent for large art projects, interior decoration items and river tables.
- Easy mixing and application: The low viscosity makes mixing and application easy and reduces bubble formation.
- Optimised curing: Allows thick and large castings without a mass effect (flash curing), with shrinkage and colour changes minimised.
- Environmentally friendly and safe: Use of the product as instructed is safe and does not harm the environment.

EMALIA Casting epoxy casting kit 3 kg instructions for use:
- Mix: Mix components A and B thoroughly in the recommended ratio. Use a mixing container with a measuring scale if needed.
- Apply: Apply the mixture to the surface you want.
- Curing: Let it cure at room temperature.
- Finishing: Let it cure for 5-7 days, and add a second layer if needed.
Storage: Store at room temperature (+20–25°C), in a dry, shaded place. Make sure the containers are closed and contact with oxygen is avoided. If the product is crystallised or cloudy, warm it before use.
- Indicative curing time: about 72h depending on the size of the casting.
- Sanding and other working usually 5-7 days after the last pour.
- Exothermic reaction: Thicker castings can cause a stronger rise in temperature, so choose a room temperature of 18–23°C for thicker castings and 23–30°C for thinner castings.
EMALIA® CASTING offers a reliable, clear and durable solution for all large and thick casting work where excellent quality and visual beauty are wanted.
Warnings:
The product contains chemical ingredients that may cause skin irritation or sensitisation. Wear protective gloves, safety glasses and protective clothing during handling. Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
- How does the Casting version differ from the Universal version?: The Casting version is optimised specifically for thick castings, where heat generation is a critical factor, while the Universal version is designed for thin surfaces.
- How are air bubbles removed?: First make sure the mixing is thorough. After pouring, you can use a heat gun or gas torch to warm the surface of the resin carefully to remove the bubbles.
- Can the product be coloured?: Yes, suitable pigments or colourants can be added to the resin before it cures.
Recycling instructions:
Empty containers from which all liquid contents have been removed are sorted according to the packaging materials. Liquid resin and hardener residues and contaminated packaging materials must be taken to a hazardous waste collection point according to local regulations. Cured resin is general waste.
