Description
Emalia UV lamp 120W is a UV LED lamp for curing UV resin and gel polish. The lamp has 42 LEDs and a dual UV + LED light source, and its power is 120 W. Curing is controlled with a 10 / 30 / 60 / 99 s timer, an LED display and an automatic sensor.
Curing is based on photochemistry. UV resin and gel polish contain a photoinitiator which, when exposed to UV or LED light, starts the polymerisation of the liquid mass into solid plastic. Without UV light, UV resin stays fluid, so there is time to fill the mould and arrange the details before curing.
The power is spread across 42 LEDs, which light the curing area under the lamp evenly. The manufacturer states 180° light coverage, so the light reaches the piece from above and from the sides. This reduces shadowed areas on jewellery, curved castings and edges.
The timer’s touch buttons select a curing cycle of 10, 30, 60 or 99 seconds, and the LED display counts down the remaining time. The automatic sensor switches on the light when a hand or object is placed under the lamp. The white housing has a metal-coloured carrying handle, a dark display panel and the model marking SUN.
Intended use and suitability:
The Emalia UV lamp 120W is designed for fast curing of UV resin products, both in projects that call for small details and in larger resin work. Its design is like a nail lamp, so it also cures gel polish.
- UV resin jewellery: Pendants, earrings and rings are cast in a silicone mould, and each layer is cured under the lamp before the next one. For example, EMALIA UV resin 100 g for art objects, decorations and jewellery is cured this way.
- Small resin castings and decorations: Keyrings, decorative objects and inlays in which dried flowers or small objects are cast into clear resin layer by layer.
- Coatings and small repairs: A thin layer of UV resin is applied as a surface coat on a piece or as a patch over a scratch, crack or chip, and the lamp cures the layer in place.
- Gel polish: The dual UV + LED light source and the timer are suitable for curing UV and LED gel polishes.
- Small single pieces: For light, portable use there is also the folding Emalia UV lamp 6W for curing resins.
Package contents:
- 1 pcs UV LED lamp, model SUN 120W
Features:
- Power 120 W: The power is spread across 42 LEDs, so the light covers the whole curing area.
- 42 LEDs: The light sources sit in several positions, which reduces shadows on curved and tall pieces.
- Dual UV + LED light source: The same lamp cures products that cure under UV light and under LED light.
- Timer 10 / 30 / 60 / 99 s: Touch buttons; the curing time is chosen according to the layer thickness and the resin manufacturer’s instructions.
- LED display: Shows the countdown of the curing cycle in seconds.
- Automatic sensor: The light switches on when a hand or object is placed under the lamp, without pressing a button.
- 180° illumination: Lighting angle stated by the manufacturer; the light reaches the piece from above and from the sides.
- Carrying handle: A metal-coloured arch on top of the housing for moving the lamp between workstations.

Emalia UV lamp 120W instructions for use:
Curing is done in thin layers, and each layer is cured in its own cycle. Protect your eyes and skin from UV light throughout the work.
- Placement: Place the lamp on a flat, dry and heat-resistant surface and connect it to the power supply.
- Preparation: Mix and spread or pour the UV resin or gel polish into a thin layer according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Time selection: Select a curing time of 10, 30, 60 or 99 s with the buttons.
- Curing: Place the work under the lamp so that the sensor switches on the light, or start the cycle with the button. The display counts down the remaining time.
- Thick castings: Cast and cure a thick piece in several layers, and run a separate curing cycle for each layer.
- Check: If the surface stays tacky, cure it again. If needed, also cure the underside of the piece after removing it from the mould.
- Finishing: Unplug the lamp after use and clean the housing with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Remove resin splashes before they harden.
Warnings:
- UV radiation: Do not look directly into the LEDs while the lamp is on; wear UV-protective glasses.
- Skin: Avoid repeated and prolonged exposure of the skin to UV light; keep your hands out of the light while the resin is curing.
- Children: Not for use by children; keep out of the reach of children and pets.
- Electrical safety: Electrical appliance for indoor use in a dry place; protect from water and other liquids.
- Heating: The lamp and the curing resin get warm in use. Do not cover the lamp, and let it cool down before storing it.
- Handling resin: Wear protective gloves and follow the resin manufacturer’s safety instructions; work in a ventilated area.
- After use: Unplug the lamp when it is not in use.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
- What is the difference between the Emalia UV lamp 120W and the Emalia UV lamp 6W? The 120W model has 120 W of power, 42 LEDs, a nail-lamp-style curing area under the housing, a 10/30/60/99 s timer, an LED display and an automatic sensor. The 6W model is a folding USB lamp for small pieces, and it is switched on with a power button.
- Is the lamp suitable for gel polish? Yes. The dual UV + LED light source cures UV and LED gel polishes; the curing time is chosen according to the polish manufacturer’s instructions.
- What kind of resin does the lamp cure? Light-curing UV resin. Two-component epoxy resin, such as EMALIA Universal epoxy casting kit 1.5 kg or Emalia Casting epoxy casting kit 3 kg, cures chemically through the reaction between resin and hardener, and its curing is not based on UV light.
- How long a curing time should I choose? The time depends on the resin type, the layer thickness and the colouring. A thin clear layer cures in a short cycle; thicker and pigmented layers need a longer cycle or several cycles according to the resin manufacturer’s instructions.
- Why does the cured surface stay tacky? A tacky surface indicates incomplete curing or a surface layer caused by oxygen in the air. An extra curing cycle or a thinner layer fixes this.
Emalia UV lamp 120W recycling instructions:
A lamp taken out of use is waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and must be taken to a WEEE collection point, not to mixed waste. Packaging materials are sorted by material into cardboard or plastic collection. Cured UV resin is mixed waste; liquid resin is hazardous waste.
