Description
The Flo 250 mm folding saw is designed for demanding hobby and professional use in gardening and hiking. The saw blade is made of high-quality, hardened 65Mn spring steel, known for its excellent wear resistance and its ability to stay sharp for a long time even in heavy use. This choice of material makes the saw a reliable tool for working thicker branches and wood too.
The 250 mm long blade of the saw has effective 7 TPI (Teeth Per Inch) teeth. These coarse teeth are optimised especially for sawing fresh, damp wood, allowing fast, clean cuts without the blade easily clogging with sawdust. The cutting geometry of the saw reduces friction and makes every stroke more effective, which saves the user’s strength during long working sessions.
Safety in use and ergonomics play a key role in the design of the Flo folding saw. The saw has a reliable safety locking mechanism, which holds the blade firmly in place both when open during work and when closed for transport and storage. This prevents unintentional blade movement and improves safety at work considerably.
The handle of the saw is made of a durable combination of ABS plastic and TPR rubber (thermoplastic rubber). The ergonomically shaped handle gives a firm, comfortable grip even in damp conditions or when wearing gloves. The profiled design supports the hand in a natural position, reducing strain and improving sawing accuracy. Thanks to the folding mechanism, the saw packs into a compact space, which makes it excellent equipment for mobile work.
Intended use:
- Gardening and tree pruning: The Flo folding saw is an ideal tool for a wide range of garden maintenance tasks. It is excellent for pruning branches of trees and shrubs, thinning shrubs and cutting thicker branches that ordinary pruning shears cannot handle. The 7 TPI teeth bite effectively into both fresh and drier wood, leaving a clean cut surface, which is important for plant health. The reach and handling of the saw make it easier to work even in tight spaces in tree crowns or dense shrubs.
- Hiking, bushcraft and outdoor activities: Thanks to its compact folding mechanism and light weight, this saw is an excellent accessory for hikers, hunters and anglers. It travels safely in a backpack or on a belt without taking up too much space. On trips, the saw can be used for cutting firewood, clearing a camp site, building lean-to shelters or other temporary shelters and removing obstacles from paths. The durable construction guarantees reliable operation even in demanding weather conditions.

Flo folding saw instructions for use:
Getting started and sawing:
Release the blade lock by pressing the lock button on the handle. Turn the blade carefully to the fully open position until you hear a click and the lock engages, securing the position of the blade. Before starting to saw, make sure the blade is firmly locked. Place the blade on the branch to be sawn. Use calm, long back-and-forth strokes. Let the saw blade do the work; do not press too hard, so that the blade does not jam. The 7 TPI teeth cut most effectively on the pull stroke.
Closing and storing the saw:
When you finish work, press the lock button to release the blade. Fold the blade carefully back into the handle. Mind your fingers while folding and keep them out of the path of the blade. Make sure the blade locks in the closed position before storage. Store the saw in a dry place, out of the reach of children.
Maintenance:
Clean the blade after each use. Especially after sawing fresh wood, resin and sap can build up on the blade and reduce sawing performance. Clean the blade with a suitable solvent or resin remover and dry it carefully. Apply a thin layer of machine oil to the blade after cleaning to prevent rust, especially if the saw will not be used for a long time. Check the operation of the locking mechanism regularly and keep it clean of dirt.
Warnings:
- The saw blade is very sharp. Handle with care to avoid cuts.
- Mind your fingers, especially when opening and closing the blade. Never keep your fingers in the blade slot in the handle when folding the saw closed.
- Always wear protective gloves and safety glasses when sawing to protect yourself from sharp edges and flying wood chips.
- Always make sure before use that the blade is properly locked in the open position.
- Do not use the saw if its mechanism is damaged or the blade is bent.
- Always store the saw folded and locked, out of the reach of children.
- This saw is intended only for sawing wood. Do not try to saw metal, stone or other hard materials.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
What does 65Mn steel mean in a saw blade?
65Mn is a high-carbon spring steel commonly used in cutting tools because of its excellent properties. It offers a good combination of hardness, wear resistance and flexibility. This means the blade stays sharp for a long time and withstands use without easily bending or breaking.
Which material are 7 TPI teeth best suited for?
TPI means teeth per inch (Teeth Per Inch). A low number such as 7 TPI means coarser teeth and larger tooth gaps. This is best suited for sawing fresh, damp wood (so-called green wood) and for fast rough cutting. The large tooth gaps remove damp sawdust effectively, preventing the blade from clogging.
Can the blade be replaced or sharpened?
In this type of folding saw the blade is usually fixed to the mechanism and is not easy for the user to replace. The hardened teeth are very hard, which makes them difficult to sharpen with traditional files. When the blade eventually goes blunt, it is often more economical to buy a new saw.
Recycling instructions:
Packaging: Sort packaging materials by type. Cardboard parts go to cardboard collection and any plastic parts to plastic packaging collection.
Product: When the product has reached the end of its life, it should be disposed of properly. The metal blade of the saw can be recycled in metal collection. The handle, which contains plastic and rubber, is sorted according to local waste management regulations, typically as mixed waste or energy waste, unless separate collection of hard plastics is available.
