Description
The Kapro 886-58 is a versatile telescopic pole system designed for precise positioning of line and point lasers on varied job sites. The system consists of light but durable aluminium telescopic sections that allow the pole to be extended up to a maximum height of 3.2 metres. Lockable sections ensure that the pole stays at the chosen length during use.
The key advantage of the product is that it converts between two different ways of use. It can be used as a free-standing unit on the sturdy tripod supplied with it, which is ideal in open spaces or where no fixing surfaces are available. Alternatively, the pole can be wedged firmly between the floor and ceiling with the top-mounted spring-loaded mechanism. This compression fixing allows a very stable set-up even in cramped interiors.
The system includes an adjustable laser bracket that moves along the pole and can be locked at the height you want. The bracket has a standard 1/4″ thread, which makes it compatible with most compact line and point lasers on the market. This set gives the professional a flexible solution for transferring height marks and alignment without having to drill walls or use bulky traditional tripods.
Intended use:
This telescopic pole system is designed for the requirements of professional construction and interior work, where precise height positioning of the laser is critical.
- Interior construction and partition wall installation: Lets you place the laser quickly at any height for aligning metal studs and partition walls, using floor-to-ceiling compression.
- Installing suspended ceilings and lighting: An ideal solution for marking suspended ceiling heights and aligning lighting tracks in high rooms, thanks to its 3.2-metre reach.
- Tiling and fitted furniture installation: Provides a stable base for the laser when precise horizontal or vertical lines are needed at different heights, for example in wall tiling or when fitting kitchen cabinets.
- Electrical and HVAC installation: Makes it easier to mark heights for pipe runs, cable trays and sockets across the full room height.
Package contents:
- Telescopic pole sections
- Tripod base
- Adjustable laser bracket (1/4″ thread)
- Storage/carry bag
Features:
- Maximum height 3.2 m: Reaches between the floor and ceiling in most standard room heights.
- Two ways of use: Can be used free-standing on the supplied tripod or wedged between the floor and ceiling using the spring-loaded end.
- Aluminium construction: The material makes the pole light to carry but rigid enough for precise work.
- Adjustable laser bracket: The sliding bracket allows stepless height adjustment of the laser and locks onto the pole.
- Standard thread: The bracket has a 1/4″ UNC thread that fits most small and medium-sized lasers.
- Lockable telescopic sections: The sections twist to lock, ensuring that the pole stays at the set length.
Technical specifications:
- Maximum reach: 320 cm (3.2 m)
- Laser mounting thread: 1/4″
- Material: Aluminium and composite plastic parts
- Product type: Telescopic pole with tripod base
Instructions for use:
Floor-to-ceiling installation: Assemble as many telescopic sections as you need to get close to the room height. Release the section locks by twisting and extend the pole until it reaches from floor to ceiling. Push the pole slightly against the ceiling so that the spring at the top compresses, and lock the sections by twisting. Make sure the pole is vertical and firmly tensioned. Fit the laser to the adjustable bracket and slide the bracket to the height you want before locking it.
Tripod installation: Open the tripod legs and place it on a level surface. Attach the bottom section of the telescopic pole to the centre of the tripod. Adjust the pole to the height you want and fit the laser to the bracket.
Warnings:
Before fitting the laser, always make sure the pole is installed firmly and stably, either on the tripod or with enough compression between the floor and ceiling. Do not overtighten the locks of the telescopic sections. Watch out for obstacles on the ceiling, such as light fittings or sprinklers, when you wedge the pole in place. Check that the laser bracket is properly locked in place before starting work, so that the laser cannot slip or fall.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
What is the maximum height of the pole?
The maximum combined height of the pole is 3.2 metres.
What kind of thread does the laser bracket have?
The bracket has a standard 1/4″ thread, the most common thread on line and point lasers.
Can the pole be used without the tripod?
Yes, the pole is also designed to be used wedged between the floor and ceiling with the spring mechanism at the top of the pole.
Recycling instructions:
The main material of the product is aluminium, which can be recycled in metal collection. Plastic parts, such as the joints and tripod parts, must be removed and recycled in the appropriate plastic collection in line with local waste management regulations.
