Description
Laatu fitter’s glove 2121X extra soft power grip is an installation and general-purpose work glove classified under EN 388:2016 with a mechanical protection rating of 2121X: abrasion resistance level 2, cut resistance (Coup test) level 1, tear resistance level 2 and puncture resistance level 1. The glove is designed for work that needs a soft, flexible glove, a secure grip and good visibility.
The body of the glove is a 13 gauge polyester knit with elastane. The knit is light and breathable and follows the hand, so fingertip feel is kept when handling small parts and tools. The colour of the body is Hi-Vis yellow, which makes the hands visible at dusk and in poor lighting.
The palm is coated with a roughened microfoam coating (sandy grip). The rough surface adds friction and improves grip on wet and dry items, and the coated palm area is waterproof. The back of the hand is uncoated, so air can circulate and the hand stays cooler.
The coating is soft and flexible throughout, which reduces hand fatigue during long shifts. The Laatu fitter’s glove 2121X extra soft power grip is available in several sizes; choose the right size from the size chart.

Laatu fitter’s glove 2121X instructions for use:
Inspect the glove visually before each use. Do not use the glove if the knit has holes or the coating has come off. Choose a size that fits closely without squeezing; a glove that is too large reduces fingertip feel and one that is too small tires the hand.
Put the glove on a dry hand and pull the cuff over the wrist. After use, remove loose dirt by shaking or brushing and let the glove dry at room temperature. Store dry and protected from light. Replace the glove when the coating is worn through or the knit is damaged.
Warnings:
- No protection against fire or heat: The glove is a mechanical protective glove (EN 388). It is not EN 407 classified and does not protect against fire, flames, sparks, hot surfaces or molten metal. Do not use the glove for welding, hot work, grilling or handling hot objects; the polyester knit and coating can melt and cause burns.
- Contains latex: Latex is stated as the coating material, and it can cause an allergic reaction in people sensitised to natural rubber. People with a latex allergy must choose another glove.
- Only minor cut protection: Cut resistance level 1 (Coup), and ISO 13997 cut resistance has not been tested. The glove is not suitable for handling sharp edges, glass, sheet metal or blades; use a cut-resistant glove for these.
- No protection against rotating machine parts: Do not use the glove near rotating blades or machine parts because of the risk of entanglement.
- No chemical protection: The glove is not EN ISO 374 classified and must not be used for handling chemicals.
- Damaged glove: A hole or detached coating removes the protection; dispose of a damaged glove.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
What does the EN 388:2016 rating 2121X mean?
The numbers and the letter give the test results in order: abrasion resistance 2 (scale 1–4), cut resistance in the Coup test 1 (1–5), tear resistance 2 (1–4), puncture resistance 1 (1–4), and X means that ISO 13997 cut resistance has not been tested. The Laatu fitter’s glove 2121X is therefore a light-class mechanical protective glove.
Is the glove suitable for wet work?
Yes. The palm coating is waterproof and the roughened surface holds the grip even on wet items. The back of the hand is uncoated, so it gets wet.
What does a roughened sandy grip surface mean?
The surface of the coating has a fine roughening that increases friction on the contact surface. The grip holds better on smooth and slippery items than with a smooth foam coating.
Why is the glove yellow?
The Hi-Vis yellow body improves the visibility of the hands at dusk and in poor lighting. The colour does not replace EN ISO 20471 classified high-visibility clothing.
