Description
Kapro red laser glasses have been developed to improve the visibility of a red laser beam in situations where ambient lighting makes the beam hard to see. The product uses optical filtering that attenuates other wavelengths of light and enhances the contrast of red laser light. This is particularly useful over long distances or in spaces with strong general lighting or daylight.
The product’s BEAMFINDER™ technology is optimised to work with various line and dot lasers. The lenses of the glasses are tinted precisely to match the wavelength of a red laser, which helps the user locate the laser line quickly on the target surface. The tool is light and shaped to sit comfortably on the face even during longer measuring sessions, which makes continuous observation on the job easier.
In practical measuring work, using the glasses reduces the need to move the laser device closer to the target to improve visibility. They allow more precise marking, for example when installing partition wall frames or suspended ceilings, where the laser line must be clearly traceable over a long distance. The glasses are passive equipment and need no batteries or technical maintenance.
It is important to note that these glasses are intended only for improving visibility. Their technical construction is optimised for optical filtering, and they are not designed as mechanical eye protection. The glasses are used in construction surveying, interior installations and all projects that use measuring devices producing red light.
The frame of the product is made of a flexible material that withstands normal handling in a measuring environment. The design of the glasses is roomy enough that they can usually be worn over some prescription glasses at the same time, which makes them practical equipment for many kinds of conditions.
Intended use:
- Indoor measuring work in bright lighting: In large halls or spaces with a lot of window area, a red laser beam can “disappear” into the surface. Kapro laser glasses filter glare and make the red line stand out in clear contrast to the background. This allows precise marking and alignment without darkening the space or interrupting work because of lighting conditions.
- Long-distance measurements and alignment: As the distance to the laser device increases, the intensity of the beam to the eye decreases. Visibility-enhancing glasses help you see the beam up to 50% further than with the naked eye. This is useful, for example, when aligning long corridors or installing partition walls in large rooms, where the laser has to cover the whole length being worked at once.
- Levelling floor surfaces and ceiling installations: When installing ceiling structures or floor battens, the laser beam often has to be followed from below or above at awkward angles. The glasses make it easier to locate the beam on different surfaces, such as plasterboard, concrete or metal frames, where the reflectivity of light varies. The enhanced contrast reduces eye strain and speeds up installation work.

Kapro red laser glasses instructions for use:
Put the glasses on when you start measuring work with a red laser device. Adjust the position and direction of the laser until you see the beam on the target surface through the glasses. Note that the glasses make the colours around you look reddish, so take care when moving around the work area. The glasses do not improve the visibility of the beam if a green laser is used; in that case, use equivalent green glasses. Clean the lenses with a soft, lint-free microfibre cloth to avoid scratching. Store the glasses in a protective pouch or case when not in use.
Warnings:
NOTE: These glasses are NOT safety glasses. They do not protect the eyes from mechanical impacts, chemical splashes or direct laser radiation. Never look directly into the laser beam, even when wearing these glasses. Do not wear the glasses for driving or other activities that require normal colour discrimination.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
Do these glasses work with a green laser?
No, the red glasses are optimised specifically for the wavelength of red laser light. With a green laser, they may even reduce the visibility of the beam.
Can I use these as safety glasses when drilling?
No, the product has not been tested or approved as safety glasses (e.g. the EN166 standard). Always wear suitable certified safety glasses for mechanical work.
Why can’t the beam be seen in bright sunshine even with the glasses?
Direct sunlight is very strong and can “wash out” the laser beam completely. The glasses help significantly, but in extreme outdoor conditions a laser detector is recommended.
Recycling instructions:
Sort the packaging materials into cardboard and plastic. The product itself is made of plastic and must be disposed of as mixed waste or according to local plastic recycling instructions (no special requirements for optical lenses).
