Description
The Painter polyester paint roller is a high-quality, durable paint roller designed especially for efficient general painting of large surfaces. The Ø48 mm core and medium-length 15 mm polyester pile of this roller make it an ideal choice when you want an opaque, even result on rough or uneven surfaces. Polyester holds paint excellently and releases it evenly onto the surface.
This roller uses advanced Thermofusion technology, in which the fabric is attached to the roller core by melting it with heat, without adhesive. This makes the roller highly solvent-resistant and stops the pile coming loose while painting. The ends of the roller are also finished with a bevel, which stops paint building up at the edges and significantly reduces roller marks (“tramlines”), guaranteeing a professional finish.
Thanks to its durable construction, the roller withstands even hard use and is easy to clean with water or thinner depending on the type of paint used. The roller is designed to fit a standard 8 mm push-in roller frame, which ensures compatibility with most paint roller frames and extension poles on the market.
Intended use:
This 15 mm polyester roller is optimised for applying water-based and solvent-based paints to surfaces where the pile needs to reach into unevenness.
- Interior walls and ceilings: Excellent for painting textured wallpapers, glass fibre fabrics, rendered surfaces and plasterboard walls where a slight surface texture is wanted.
- Rough surfaces: Suitable for painting concrete, brick and block surfaces in basements, garages or industrial premises.
- Exterior painting: Can also be used for painting rough wooden facades or plinths, as long as the paint used is compatible with the polyester pile.

Painter paint roller polyester 15 mm instructions for use:
Before first use, it is advisable to wash the roller in lukewarm water and dry it by spinning it between your palms to remove loose fibres. Fit the roller firmly to an 8 mm push-in roller frame. Dip the roller in the paint and roll it against the grid of the paint tray until the pile is evenly and thoroughly loaded with paint but no paint runs from the roller.
Paint the wall or ceiling with even, calm strokes. Avoid pressing the roller too hard so that paint does not spatter or run. Work in parallel strokes and finish the surface by rolling lightly from top to bottom to get a final even coat. Clean the roller immediately after use with water (water-based paints) or white spirit (solvent-based paints). Dry the roller upright or hanging so that the pile is not flattened.
Warnings:
Make sure the paint used is suitable for a polyester roller. Keep the roller out of the reach of children. Dispose of painting waste and washing water according to local waste regulations; do not pour paint down the drain.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
- Is this roller suitable for smooth plasterboard walls?
Yes, if you want a slightly textured (“orange peel”) surface. If you want a completely smooth result, we recommend a shorter-pile roller (e.g. 5-10 mm). - Can this roller be used to apply varnish?
Polyester withstands solvents well, but a 15 mm pile is usually too long for applying varnish and can leave an uneven surface or air bubbles. Shorter-pile or foam rollers are recommended for varnishing. - Is the roller washable and reusable?
Yes, thanks to the Thermofusion construction, the roller withstands washing and repeated use well, as long as it is cleaned carefully immediately after use.
Recycling instructions:
Sort the packaging material of the product into cardboard or plastic collection. A used paint roller with dried paint is sorted as mixed waste. If the roller contains wet paint or solvents, it should be taken to a hazardous waste collection point. The metal frame (sold separately) is sorted into metal collection.
