Description
Painter radiator brush thick 90% TOPS mixed bristle FSC K07 is a long-handled special tool that differs from standard models in its exceptionally thick bristle head. This angled brush is designed for jobs that need long reach and the ability to paint awkward structures while minimising repeated dipping of the brush in the paint container. The thickened profile holds a considerably larger amount of paint than conventional models.
The technical performance of the tool is based on its 90% TOPS mixed bristle. This specification means that at least 90 per cent of the individual bristles run full length from the metal ferrule right to the tip of the brush. As a result, the thick bristle head does not thin out towards the tip but forms a massive, solid paint reservoir. The bristles of even length release paint onto the surface evenly and in a controlled way, which lets you make long, continuous strokes even in narrow gaps.
The mixed bristle combines the best properties of natural bristle and synthetic fibre. The natural bristle supports optimal liquid holding, while the synthetic fibres give the brush body and stop the bristles going limp when water-based products are used. This combination of materials guarantees wide compatibility with various water- and solvent-based paints, varnishes and wood stains.
The body of the brush is an extra-long handle made of FSC-certified wood. The FSC certificate ensures that the material used in production comes from responsibly and sustainably managed forests. The sturdy, sanded wooden handle gives a steady grip even when guiding the brush from a distance. The bristles are locked into the handle with a mechanically durable, angled metal ferrule that holds the thick mass of bristles tightly together despite repeated use and solvent washing.
Intended use:
- Behind radiators: Thanks to the angled tip, long handle and large paint capacity, ideal for painting behind fitted radiators and between sections without constantly fetching more paint.
- Deep gaps and narrow spaces: Lets you get liquid behind pipework, into deep installation recesses and into gaps between structures that a short-handled tool cannot reach.
- Painting larger areas from a distance: Thanks to the very thick bristle head, the brush is also suitable for efficiently painting slightly larger surfaces, such as high cornices or beams, from a single point.
- General painting behind obstacles: A reliable tool for a wide range of painting and varnishing work with water- and solvent-based products when the job calls for a controllable stroke from further away.
Package contents:
- 1 x Painter radiator brush thick 90% TOPS mixed bristle FSC K07 (width according to the selected size)
Features:
- Very thick bristle head: Holds an exceptionally large amount of paint, which makes work more efficient and reduces the number of dips needed in confined spaces.

Painter radiator brush thick K07 instructions for use:
Remove loose dust from the brush by brushing it lightly with your fingers before first use. Dip no more than half of the thick bristles into the paint or varnish. Because of its very thick construction, the brush absorbs liquid quickly, so take care not to dip it too deep, so that the paint does not rise into the metal ferrule or onto the handle. Guide the angled tip to the spot to be painted and apply the product with calm strokes, using the long handle to steer.
If you take a break from painting, wrap the thick bristle head tightly in an airtight plastic bag or cling film to stop it drying out. Never leave a long-handled brush resting on its bristles on the bottom of the paint container, so that the shape of the bristles and the angle are not permanently distorted.
Wash the brush thoroughly as soon as you have finished. Water-based products are washed out with warm water and a mild detergent. Because the bristle head is thick, make sure the water also rinses residue out of the middle of the bristles. With solvent-based products, first clean the tool with the solvent recommended by the paint manufacturer and finally wash it with soapy water. Squeeze out the excess liquid gently, shape the bristles back into their flat form with your fingers and leave the brush to dry on a flat surface.
Warnings:
Make sure there is effective ventilation, especially when handling solvent-based paints or cleaning chemicals in small, confined spaces. Follow the paint manufacturer’s instructions on personal protection. If the brush is used to apply self-igniting substances (such as linseed oil or certain waxes), the oily, thick bristles are a fire hazard. Clean the tool immediately after use or keep it immersed in a container filled with water to prevent spontaneous combustion.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
How does this differ from an ordinary radiator brush?
The K07 series brush is considerably thicker than conventional models (e.g. K05). Its thick bristles let it hold much more paint at a time. This speeds up painting, as you do not have to keep pulling the brush out of an awkward spot to dip it.
Is the thick mixed bristle suitable for water-based paints?
Yes. Although natural bristle absorbs liquid and swells, the synthetic fibre in the blend ensures that the brush keeps its spring and shape when used with water-based products too.
How does the long handle affect the feel of painting?
The long wooden handle gives extra reach but calls for a slightly different technique from short-handled tools. It acts as a lever that lets you steer the angled tip of the brush precisely even from further away.
Recycling instructions:
When the brush has been fully cleaned and is dry, it is disposed of as mixed waste at the end of its life. If, however, the thick bristle head contains undried residues of chemicals classified as hazardous (for example solvent-based varnishes), the tool must be taken to a hazardous waste collection point. The retail packaging should be sorted into plastic or cardboard collection depending on its material.
