Description
Painter round brush 90% TOPS mixed bristle FSC O05 is a round painting tool developed especially for finishing profiled surfaces, pipes and other curved or complex shapes. The round design lets you get paint effectively into tight recesses, narrow grooves and corners that a flat brush has difficulty reaching.
The bristle head is made of mixed bristle. This combination of materials contains both natural bristle and synthetic fibre. Thanks to the combination, the brush can handle a wide range of chemistries and is compatible with both water-based and solvent-based paints, varnishes and translucent stains. The synthetic fibre keeps its shape with water-based products, while the natural bristle helps hold the liquid.
The 90% TOPS feature means that at least 90 per cent of the individual bristles in the bristle head are full length, reaching from the ferrule right to the tip of the brush. This bristle construction gives high liquid holding capacity. The large paint capacity reduces the need to keep dipping the brush in the container and helps form an even paint film even over longer strokes.
The body of the tool is an FSC-certified wooden handle, which guarantees that the wood used in production comes from responsibly and sustainably managed forests. The shape of the handle is optimised for the rolling and twisting movement often used when painting with a round brush. The bristles are fixed firmly in place with a durable ferrule that keeps them in a bundle despite repeated cleaning.
Intended use:
- Painting profiles and panels: Ideal for treating shaped skirting boards, panel grooves and other uneven surfaces where the paint has to reach deep into the structure.
- Pipes and curved surfaces: Thanks to its round shape, the brush easily follows the shapes of pipes, railings and posts for even coverage.
- Window frames: Suitable for precise work when painting window frames and glazing bars, where control and a sharp line are important.
- Details and restoration: Lets you paint small details, decorative carvings and hard-to-reach parts of furniture.

Painter round brush O05 instructions for use:
Rub the bristles of the brush lightly by hand before first use to loosen any manufacturing dust. When painting, dip no more than half the bristle length into the paint. With a round brush, you can apply paint more effectively by twisting the handle lightly between your fingers during the stroke, so that paint transfers evenly from all sides of the bristles onto the surface.
During breaks in painting, protect the brush from drying out by wrapping it airtight in a plastic bag or cling film. Avoid leaving the brush on the bottom of the container resting on its bristles, so that the round tip is not permanently bent flat.
Wash the brush immediately after use. Water-based paints and varnishes are washed out with warm water and mild soap. With solvent-based products, the brush is first cleaned with the solvent specified by the paint manufacturer and then washed with water and soap. Squeeze out the excess water and shape the bristles back into their original round form with your fingers. Lay the brush to dry on a flat surface or hang it from the handle.
Warnings:
Always make sure the work area is well ventilated when using solvent-based paints, varnishes or cleaning agents. Wear the personal protective equipment recommended by the paint manufacturer. If the brush is used to apply oxidising and self-igniting substances such as linseed oil or certain wood waxes, note the fire risk. Wash the brush thoroughly immediately after use or keep it immersed in a container of water to prevent spontaneous combustion.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
What is a round brush best suited to?
A round brush is best suited to uneven, curved and profiled surfaces. It is commonly used for painting window frames, pipes, turned furniture legs, spindle-back chairs and various mouldings.
Can mixed bristle be used with water-based paints?
Yes. Mixed bristle includes synthetic fibre that prevents the bristles swelling too much and going limp with water-based paints. Thanks to the natural bristle part, the brush holds the paint well.
What is the advantage of the 90% TOPS bristle construction?
90% TOPS means that most of the bristles reach their full length. This creates a large reservoir in the brush that absorbs a lot of paint. With one dip, you can paint a longer distance without interruption.
Recycling instructions:
A brush that is completely cleaned and dry is sorted as mixed waste. If the bristles of the brush contain undried residues classified as hazardous (such as solvent-based paints, varnishes or oils), the tool must be taken to a hazardous waste collection point. The retail packaging is recycled according to its material, usually in cardboard or plastic collection.
