Description
The Painter angled brush 90% TOPS mixed bristles FSC S03 is designed especially for painting tasks that require precision. The angled shape of the brush allows sharp edges and precise cutting-in without taping. This model is excellent for places where the surface being painted meets another material, such as glass, wallpaper or a paint surface of a different colour.
The product’s angled brush 90% TOPS construction means that 90 per cent of the bristles are full length and reach from the ferrule all the way to the tip of the brush. This feature maximises the ability of the bristles to absorb and hold paint, which reduces the need to dip the brush in the paint container repeatedly. Even paint release helps achieve an even, neat paint surface with fewer strokes.
The bristles of the brush are mixed bristles, combining the properties of natural bristle and synthetic fibre. Thanks to this combination, the product works reliably with both water- and solvent-thinned paints, varnishes and stains. The mixed bristles keep their springiness and shape in different conditions, guaranteeing controlled work.
The body of the brush is an FSC-certified wooden handle. This certification ensures that the wood used to make the handle comes from responsibly managed forests. The shape of the handle supports a natural, stable grip, which makes wrist control easier in long painting work that requires precision. The bristles are attached to the handle with a sturdy metal ferrule that prevents bristles coming loose during work.
Intended use:
- Cutting in: The angled shape allows precise straight lines to be painted where walls meet ceilings, alongside mouldings and at colour boundaries.
- Painting windows and doors: Ideal for painting window sashes and door frames, where paint must be applied precisely up to the edge of the glass or seal.
- Corners and tight gaps: The angled tip easily reaches tight corners and angles that are difficult to reach with a flat-tipped brush.
- General painting: A versatile tool for treating panels, furniture and other smaller surfaces with both water- and solvent-thinned products.

Painter angled brush 90% TOPS mixed bristles FSC S03 instructions for use:
Before first use, clean loose dust off the brush lightly by hand. When painting, dip only about one third, or at most half, of the bristles in the paint. This is especially important with an angled brush, so that the tip keeps its precision and paint does not rise into the metal ferrule. Apply the paint using the bevelled tip of the brush against the edges, pressing lightly so that the bristles spread into an even line.
If you take a break from painting, protect the brush from drying out by wrapping the bristles airtight in cling film. Do not leave the brush resting on its bristles at the bottom of the paint container, because the bevelled shape can bend permanently.
Clean the tool immediately after use. Water-based products are washed off with warm water and soap. For solvent-based products, use the thinner or solvent recommended by the paint manufacturer. Shake off excess liquid, reshape the angled bristles with your fingers to their original shape and leave to dry on a flat surface or hang it from the hole in the handle.
Warnings:
Ensure ventilation of the work area when using solvent-based paints or cleaning agents. Use the personal protective equipment recommended by the chemical manufacturer. If the brush is used to apply oxidising and self-igniting substances (such as linseed oil), substance left in the bristles can cause a fire hazard. In that case, wash the brush thoroughly immediately after use or store it in a container filled with water.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
What is an angled brush used for?
An angled brush is designed especially for precise work. Its bevelled tip makes it an excellent tool for cutting in walls, ceilings, skirting boards and window sashes without using masking tape. It also reaches tight corners better than a straight brush.
What does the 90% TOPS construction mean for this product?
It refers to the length of the bristles. Angled brush 90% TOPS means that up to 90 per cent of the bristles of the brush are full length, reaching from the ferrule to the tip. This construction can hold and release more paint evenly in one stroke.
Can mixed bristles be used with water-based paints?
Yes. Mixed bristles combine the water resistance of synthetic fibre and the good paint retention of natural bristle. They are perfectly suitable for applying both water- and solvent-thinned products.
Recycling instructions:
When the brush is completely dry and cleaned of chemicals, it can be disposed of with normal mixed waste. If the bristles contain undried residues or residues of substances classified as hazardous (for example solvent-based paints or oils), take the brush to a hazardous waste collection point. Recycle the retail packaging according to the material in cardboard or plastic collection.
