Description
Painter general-purpose brush 2K handle mixed bristle F01 is a versatile painting tool designed for treating various surfaces. The key feature of this tool is its two-component, or 2K, handle. The two-component construction combines hard plastic with a softer, rubbery material. This choice of materials gives an excellent grip, which reduces hand strain in long painting projects and stops the brush slipping out of your grip even if your hands are damp or covered in paint.
The bristle head is made of advanced mixed bristle. Mixed bristle is a carefully considered combination of synthetic fibres and traditional natural bristle. The natural property of natural bristle maximises liquid holding, so the general-purpose brush can hold a considerable amount of paint at a time. The synthetic fibres, in turn, ensure that the bristles keep their structural shape and spring even when water-based paints are used, with which pure natural bristle might go limp.
The bristles are fixed firmly to the 2K handle with a metal ferrule. The mechanically crimped ferrule holds the mixed bristles tightly in place, stopping individual bristles coming loose onto the surface being treated. The even, flat shape of the bristles makes applying paint quick and allows an even paint film to form on the surface.
The general-purpose brush is designed to be multi-purpose. Thanks to its mixed bristle, it is compatible with water- and solvent-based paints, varnishes, primers and wood stains alike. The geometry and materials of the tool suit painting flat surfaces, mouldings, furniture painting and various maintenance jobs that need reliable transfer of paint from the container to the surface.
Intended use:
- General surface painting: Suitable for flat surfaces such as doors, panels and furniture that need controlled, even application of paint in longer strokes.
- Varnishing and staining: The mixed bristle releases varnish and stain evenly, giving a uniform layer of liquid finishes on the surface.
- Painting mouldings and frames: The flat shape and springy bristle tip allow precise line drawing, control of the paint and cutting in on narrow areas.
- Priming: The tool works excellently for applying bonding primers, oils and various protective products before the actual top coat.

Painter general-purpose brush F01 instructions for use:
Before first use, it is advisable to brush the general-purpose brush lightly by hand to remove any loose dust from manufacturing. When you start painting, dip no more than half or a third of the bristle length into the paint. Avoid dipping the tool up to the metal ferrule, as paint getting inside the ferrule and drying makes the brush harder to clean and limits its flexibility.
During breaks, protect the mixed bristle from drying out. Wrap the bristle head airtight in a plastic bag or cling film. Do not leave the brush leaning on its bristles against the bottom of the paint container for long periods, so that the bristles do not bend and permanently lose their original flat shape.
Clean the tool immediately when you finish painting. Water-based products are washed out with warm water and soap until the rinse water is completely clear. With solvent-based products, start cleaning with the solvent recommended by the paint manufacturer, then wash the bristles once more with water and mild soap. Squeeze out the excess water, shape the bristles flat again with your fingers and leave the brush to dry either hanging from the hole in the handle or on a flat surface.
Warnings:
Make sure the work area is well ventilated, especially when using solvent-based products or cleaning chemicals. Follow the chemical manufacturer’s instructions on protective equipment. If the brush is used to apply oxidising and self-igniting substances (such as linseed oil or certain wood waxes), note the fire risk. Oily mixed bristles must be cleaned thoroughly immediately after use or kept in a container filled with water to prevent spontaneous combustion.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
Can a mixed bristle brush be used for water-based acrylic paints?
Yes. Mixed bristle is designed to be multi-purpose, and the synthetic fibre it contains keeps the bristles springy with water-based acrylic paints too, preventing the limpness typical of pure natural bristle.
What is the benefit of a 2K handle when painting?
A two-component handle gives better ergonomics and a more secure grip than a conventional plastic or wooden handle. The rubber grip surface prevents slipping and reduces the finger force needed to move the brush.
How do I clean the brush after using solvent-based varnish?
After a solvent-based product, first wash the brush with a thinner suitable for that product (for example white spirit) according to the product’s instructions. Then wash the tool thoroughly with water and soap so that all the solvent is removed from the bristles before storage.
Recycling instructions:
A brush that is completely dry and cleaned of paints and chemicals can be disposed of with normal mixed waste at the end of its life. If the bristles contain undried residues of substances classified as hazardous waste (for example solvent-based paints, varnishes or self-igniting oils), the brush must be taken to a hazardous waste collection point according to local regulations. The materials of the retail packaging are sorted into plastic or cardboard collection.
