Description
Procat hot melt glue stick is a hot melt adhesive stick for a glue gun. The stick melts in the hot chamber of the gun and the glue is dispensed with the trigger; as it cools, the glue hardens in seconds and forms a flexible joint. The sticks are 200 mm long, so one stick lasts for longer continuous work.
The sticks come in two diameters: 8 mm (pack of 12 pcs) and 11 mm (pack of 16 pcs). The diameter is chosen to suit the feed channel of the gun: an 8 mm stick fits smaller guns, an 11 mm stick the most common larger models. The wrong diameter does not feed properly in the gun.
The glue sticks to porous and light materials such as wood, cardboard, textile, felt and light plastic. The joint withstands light mechanical stress and is flexible, so it tolerates small movements between the materials.
Hardened glue holds at room temperature but softens again when heated, so the joint can be opened if necessary. Hot melt glue is not suitable for applications exposed to constant load, heat or long-term moisture.
Intended use and suitability:
The Procat hot melt glue stick is intended for quick fixing of light parts, where the glue hardens by cooling rather than by solvent evaporation.
- Crafts and handicrafts: gluing cardboard, felt, wood, string and light decorations.
- Small fixings around the home: decorations, cable clips, textile labels and temporary fixing of mouldings.
- Light repairs: gluing parts of frames, toys and small everyday items.
- Sealing and filling: filling small gaps where there is no load or heat.
Package contents:
- 8 x 200 mm: 12 hot melt glue sticks
- 11 x 200 mm: 16 hot melt glue sticks
- Glue gun not included
Features:
- 200 mm length: longer continuous gluing time without changing the stick.
- Two diameters: 8 mm and 11 mm for the most common glue guns.
- Fast hardening: the glue sets in seconds as it cools.

Procat hot melt glue stick instructions for use:
Preparation: Choose the stick diameter to suit the gun (8 or 11 mm). Place the gun on a non-flammable surface, push the stick into the feed channel and let the gun heat up.
Gluing: Clean and dry the surfaces to be glued. Apply the glue in dots or a thin bead on one surface, press the parts together immediately and hold them in place for a few seconds. Work in small sections: the glue sets quickly.
Finishing: Let the joint cool before loading it. Remove excess glue once cool by lifting it off carefully, not by scraping.
Storage: Switch off the gun and let it cool before storing it. Store the sticks in a dry, cool place, protected from dust.
Warnings:
- Molten glue is hot and causes burns on the skin; do not touch molten glue or the nozzle of the gun.
- Use the gun only on a level, non-flammable surface and watch out for drips.
- Keep the glue sticks and gun out of the reach of children.
- Do not glue materials that melt or warp with heat, such as thin foam or polystyrene.
- The joint does not withstand constant load, heat or long-term outdoor use.
- Store in a dry, cool place.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
Which diameter fits my gun? Check the size of the feed channel of the gun: 8 mm sticks for smaller guns, 11 mm for the most common larger models. A stick that is too thin slips in the feed.
How quickly does the glue harden? The glue starts to set within a few seconds and reaches its strength in about 1–2 minutes.
Is hot melt glue suitable for outdoor use? Not long term. Moisture and temperature changes weaken the joint.
Which materials does the glue stick to best? Porous and light materials: wood, cardboard, textile and felt. Smooth and greasy plastics and metals hold less well.
Can a glue joint be opened? Yes, heating softens hardened glue and the joint can be taken apart.
Recycling instructions:
Sort unused and hardened glue sticks and glue residue into mixed waste or energy waste. Cardboard packaging to cardboard collection and the plastic bag to plastic collection. Glue must not be put down the drain.
