Description
The Procat mini grinder sanding/cutting set 34-piece is a versatile accessory package designed for use with high-speed rotary multi-tools such as mini grinders and die grinders. This set meets the needs of professionals and demanding hobbyists by offering a wide range of tools for precision work in tight, hard-to-reach places. The set is an essential accessory for fitters, people working in mechanics and maintenance professionals, for example.
The core of the set is made up of different discs optimised for different uses. It includes distinctive dark grey reinforced cutting discs. The mesh structure visible on their surface shows the fibreglass reinforcement, which makes the discs more durable and safer in more demanding metal cutting, reducing the risk of the disc breaking under load. These are excellent for shortening bolts or cutting thin sheet metal, for example.
The set also contains plenty of thinner, reddish-brown grinding and cutting discs. These discs are intended for more delicate material removal, tidying edges, deburring and lighter cutting tasks. They let you work metals, plastics and other similar materials precisely.
Two metal mandrels are supplied in the pack for fitting the discs. The mandrels have a standard-size shank that fits the chucks of most mini grinders on the market. The discs are fixed to the mandrel with a screw at the end, which ensures a firm, safe fixing even when working at high speeds.
The whole 34-piece set is supplied in a compact, clear storage tub. This practical pack keeps the small accessories in order, makes it easier to find the right disc and protects them from knocks in the toolbox or workshop.
Intended use:
This set is designed for versatile precision work in different industries and repair work.
- Small-scale cutting and shaping of metal: The reinforced discs in the set are excellent for cutting small metal parts such as screws, nails, bolts or thin metal profiles and tubes in tight spots that larger tools cannot reach.
- Installation and maintenance work: Electrical, HVAC and mechanical installations often need precise material removal or removal of old fasteners. The set lets you split seized nuts or tidy up installation holes, for example.
- Deburring and finishing: The grinding discs can be used to tidy cut edges, smooth welding spots and round off sharp edges on different materials.
- Prototyping and precision engineering: In modelling and product development tasks that call for precision, the set provides tools for modifying and fitting small components.
Package contents:
The set contains a total of 34 parts packed in a storage box:
- 3 pcs reinforced cutting discs (dark grey, mesh pattern)
- Plenty of grinding/cutting discs (brown)
- 2 pcs mandrels for the discs (screw-tightened)
- Clear plastic storage tub with green screw lid
Features:
- Versatile range of discs: A combination of reinforced cutting discs for heavier work and thinner discs for precision grinding covers a wide range of needs.
- Reinforced construction: The fibreglass reinforcement of the dark discs significantly adds to their durability and safety when cutting metal, compared with conventional unreinforced discs.
- Standard compatibility: The supplied mandrels fit the most common rotary tools and mini grinders (e.g. Dremel-type tools), which makes the set easy to start using.
- Compact storage: The durable, clear tub makes the accessories easier to manage and carry, reducing loss of small parts.

Procat mini grinder sanding/cutting set instructions for use:
Fitting the disc to the mandrel:
Choose a suitable disc for the job (reinforced for cutting metal, thinner for grinding/light cutting).
Undo the small screw at the end of the mandrel with a suitable screwdriver (note: screwdriver not included). Take care not to lose the screw and any small washer.
Place the disc on the end of the mandrel so that the screw goes through the centre hole of the disc. Make sure any washer is in the right place between the screw head and the disc.
Tighten the screw carefully back into the mandrel. Do not overtighten, so that the disc does not break, but make sure it stays firmly in place and cannot spin freely.
Working:
Fix the mandrel with the disc firmly in the chuck of the mini grinder.
Set the speed of the tool according to the material being worked and the disc used. Avoid too high speeds, especially when working plastic.
Start the tool and let it reach the target speed before touching the workpiece.
Work calmly. Let the disc cut or grind under its own weight; do not press the tool hard against the workpiece. Excessive force heats the disc, wears it quickly and can lead to the disc breaking or the motor overloading.
When cutting, keep the tool steady and cut in a straight line. Do not twist or turn the disc in the cut, as this can break the disc.
Warnings:
- Always wear safety glasses: Rotating tools can throw out particles of material or pieces of a broken disc at high speed. Eye protection is essential. A face shield is also recommended.
- Check the discs before use: Never use a disc that has visible cracks, chips or other damage. A damaged disc can shatter explosively during use.
- Wear a respirator: Grinding and cutting, especially of metals and composites, produces fine dust that can be harmful if inhaled.
- Mind the speed: Make sure you do not exceed the maximum permitted speed for the discs. Too high a speed can break the disc.
- Check the fixing: Before starting the tool, always check that the disc is properly fixed to the mandrel and the mandrel is tight in the chuck of the tool.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
Do these discs fit Dremel tools?
Yes, the mandrels supplied with the set are compatible with most mini grinders and rotary multi-tools on the market, including Dremel-branded tools with a standard-size chuck.
What is the difference between the dark and the brown discs?
The dark grey discs with a mesh pattern are reinforced cutting discs. They are designed to withstand harder stress, especially when cutting metals. The brown discs are typically standard discs suitable for more precise grinding, tidying and lighter cutting.
Can plastic be cut with these discs?
Yes. However, when cutting plastic, it is important to use a lower speed so that the frictional heat does not melt the plastic and clog the disc. Work in short spells.
Recycling instructions:
- Discs: Used and broken grinding and cutting discs are mixed waste.
- Mandrels: Metal mandrels can be recycled in metal collection at the end of their life.
- Packaging: The plastic storage tub and lid should be sorted into plastic packaging collection.
