The coarser K150 side removes material quickly: it straightens a dull edge, repairs chips and reshapes the bevel. The finer K320 side removes the scratches left by rough grinding and finishes the cutting edge.
The stone is a synthetic sharpening stone and is moistened with water before use. The water carries detached metal and abrasive grains away from the surface, so the stone does not clog and the grinding stays even.

Preparation: Clean grease and dirt off the blade. Moisten the stone with water and keep the surface wet throughout the sharpening. Place the stone on a flat, stable surface; a damp cloth under the stone stops it from slipping.
Rough grinding (K150): Hold the blade at an angle of about 20 degrees to the stone surface. Draw the blade across the stone in a smooth movement towards the tip and keep the angle the same throughout the movement. Grind the same number of strokes on both sides of the blade until the edge is even along its full length.
Finishing (K320): Turn the stone over and repeat the same movement with lighter pressure. The fine side removes the scratches from the coarse side and sharpens the cutting edge.
Cleaning: Rinse the stone with water and wipe off the metal particles. Let it dry before storage.
Warnings:
- The blade being sharpened is sharp; keep your fingers away from the cutting edge and draw the blade away from yourself.
- Place the stone on a flat surface that does not slip, as a moving stone causes an uncontrolled movement.
