Turvallisuustiedot ja varoitukset (Safety Information):
1. Määräystenmukainen käyttö: Käytä tätä muurauskauhaa ainoastaan sille tarkoitettuihin tehtäviin, kuten laastin tai vastaavien muurausmateriaalien levittämiseen ja tasoittamiseen. Älä missään tapauksessa käytä kauhaa vipuna, lyöntityökaluna, leikkuutyökaluna tai muihin sopimattomiin käyttötarkoituksiin.
2. Henkilönsuojaimet: Työn luonteesta ja käsiteltävistä materiaaleista (esim. emäksiset laastit) riippuen asianmukaisten suojavarusteiden käyttö on tarpeen. Käytä työkäsineitä, suojalaseja ja suojavaatetusta vammojen, ihoärsytyksen ja roiskeiden ehkäisemiseksi.
4. Yleinen turvallisuus: Tämä tuote ei ole lelu. Säilytä lasten ulottumattomissa. Karkaistu terästerä voi olla terävä.
5. Hävittäminen: Tuote koostuu metallista ja puusta. Hävitä tuote elinkaarensa lopussa paikallisten jätehuoltomääräysten mukaisesti (metalli kierrätykseen, puu energiajätteeseen).
Huomautus: Noudata aina näitä turvallisuusohjeita riskien minimoimiseksi ja turvallisen työskentelyn varmistamiseksi.
Description
The Schwan 180 mm stove trowel is a masonry tool designed for demanding professional use and represents high German manufacturing quality (“Made in Germany”). This tool is shaped specifically to be an efficient general-purpose tool for chimney and fireplace masonry and other heavy mortar work. Its construction is optimised to withstand the heavy wear and mechanical stress caused by masonry mortars.
The key feature of the trowel is its blade, which is made of hardened steel. Hardening makes the blade extremely wear-resistant, which is essential when working sand- and cement-based mortars. The blade size is 180 x 120 mm, which gives good capacity for moving mortar. Another significant structural advantage is the trowel’s straight neck. This design is intended to optimise the transfer of force from the user’s hand to the blade, which makes it easier to scoop and spread heavy, stiff mortar and reduces strain on the wrist.
The tool is finished with a traditional, ergonomic wooden handle that gives a secure, comfortable grip in all kinds of working conditions. The Schwan stove trowel is designed to withstand daily professional use on site.
Intended use:
- Chimney masonry: This trowel model is an excellent tool for building chimneys. Its shape and size (180 mm width) are well suited to lifting mortar out of a tub and placing it precisely on chimney blocks or brickwork, even when working in narrower flues
- Fireplace and stove building: Designed especially for building the body of fireplaces and other heating stoves. The hardened steel blade withstands even coarse masonry mortars, and the straight neck allows powerful work when large amounts of mortar are moved into the structure
- General masonry and moving mortar: Works as an efficient general-purpose trowel on all kinds of masonry sites. Its sturdy construction and optimised power transfer make it ideal for moving mortar, concrete or fillers from the mixing container to the work area or a mortar board

Instructions for use:
The Schwan stove trowel is intended for handling mortar and other masonry materials. Use the trowel to lift mortar out of a tub and spread it on the masonry. Using the straight neck, you can apply the force needed even with stiffer mortar. After work, clean the trowel thoroughly with water and a brush before the mortar hardens on the blade. Dry the tool after cleaning to prevent surface rust on the hardened steel.
Warnings:
This tool is intended only for handling masonry materials and is not suitable for moving hot substances such as ash or embers. The hardened steel blade can have sharp edges; handle with care. Always wear suitable personal protective equipment, such as protective gloves, during masonry work to protect your skin from the alkalinity of mortar and from mechanical stress.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
Can this trowel be used to empty hot ash from a fireplace?
No. Although the product is called a “stove trowel” (uunikauha), this particular model is designed as a masonry tool for handling mortar when building chimneys and fireplaces, not for moving hot materials.
What is the benefit of hardened steel?
Masonry mortars contain sand, which is highly abrasive. Hardened steel is considerably harder than ordinary steel, so it withstands this abrasion for much longer without wearing.
What is the “Degginger Form”?
It is a traditional German masonry trowel design, typically with a straight neck. This shape is optimised especially for efficient, ergonomic handling of heavier mortars.
Recycling instructions:
The product consists of metal (blade) and wood (handle). At the end of its life, the parts should be separated where possible. Take the hardened steel part to metal recycling; the wooden handle can be disposed of as energy waste according to local waste management regulations.
