Description
Digital infrared thermometer with a clear LCD display. The device has a laser sight that makes it easy to aim at the measuring point. It can measure continuously, in which case it always shows the current reading. The reading can also be held on the display by pressing the trigger.
Suitable for quick, effortless general temperature measurement at home, in industry and on construction sites.
Instructions for use
Fitting: Insert the batteries into the battery compartment under the handle. To change the batteries, open the compartment and insert new batteries as shown in the diagram on the device. We recommend using alkaline batteries of the same brand.
Switching on: Press the trigger and wait for the device to show the reading. The device beeps.
C/F button: Switches the unit shown between C and F. Also used to change the values of other settings.
Laser symbol: Switches the visible laser beam off and on. Does not affect measurement. Also used to change the values of other settings.
Mode: Changes the operating mode in the following order when pressed: MAX – MIN – EMS – CAL
MAX function: highest temperature measured during the measuring period
Min function: lowest temperature measured during the measuring period
EMS: the device’s emissivity setting; you can change this value by pressing the C/F button or the laser beam button while the mode value is selected. The emissivity of most organic materials is 0.95. This is the device’s default value. Some objects emit thermal radiation at a different value. You can change the device’s setting to match the emissivity of the object to improve measuring accuracy.
CAL: automatic calibration and manual adjustment of the device’s measured value
Measuring: Point the device at the object to be measured and press the trigger. The device shows the measured temperature. The accuracy of the device depends on the distance to the object and its size. If the measuring area is larger than the object, the reading may be distorted. Move closer to the object and measure again. The best result is obtained when the object being measured is 2 x larger than the lens.
Small objects should be measured from close range. Make sure there are no interfering materials such as glass or plastic in between.
Do not use the device in dirty or dusty conditions, and do not expose it to moisture or high temperatures. If you move the device between large temperature differences, wait 30 min for its temperature to stabilise before use. Never point the laser beam towards eyes or living beings.
Calibration: If the temperature of the measured object and the temperature shown by the device do not match, you can calibrate the device within +-5 degrees. If the object’s temperature is 27.2C and the device shows 25C, put the device in CAL mode and set the calibration value to 2.2C
Care: You can blow the device clean at a maximum pressure of 0.3MPa, brush it lightly or clean it with a cloth. Do not use solvents.
Storage: Store in a closed box. Do not store in direct sunlight. Remove the batteries if the device will not be used for long periods. Store at -20 to 60C at below 90% relative humidity.
