Description
Yato cordless vacuum 18V, body only (YT-85683) is a cordless handheld vacuum that runs on Yato 18 V Li-Ion system batteries. This body-only model is supplied without a battery or charger, so it suits users who already have a battery from the same range. The vacuum’s power is 150 W and the vacuum it produces 9 kPa.
The design is bagless: dirt is collected in a transparent dust container with a washable HEPA filter. The container is removed with a single locking button, emptied and rinsed. The vacuum is intended for dry use : liquids, wet ash or dirt hotter than 40 °C must not be vacuumed.
Without the battery the unit weighs 1.0 kg, which together with being cordless makes it practical for cleaning vehicle interiors, workshop benches, stairs and furniture. The slide switch locks in the I position, so you do not need to hold the switch down while working.
The vacuum comes with two extension tubes and three nozzles: a wide floor nozzle, a narrow nozzle and a crevice nozzle. The nozzles fit directly into the front opening of the container or onto the end of the extension tubes, giving enough reach for the floor and under car seats. Compatible batteries include, for example, the Yato 18V Li-Ion battery range batteries, and for charging you can use the Yato battery charger 18V 2.2A.
Uses and suitability:
The Yato cordless vacuum 18V, body only is intended for small dry cleaning jobs in the household, workshop and vehicles.
- Cars and work machines: cab floors, seats and shelves are cleaned without mains power; the narrow and crevice nozzles reach between the seats.
- Workshop and workstation: collecting sawdust, drilling dust and chips from workbenches and around machines; the HEPA filter traps fine dust.
- Home: stairs, furniture, crumbs and sand in the hallway; with the extension tubes also floor surfaces without bending down.
- Service and installation work: the light unit goes along to the site with the same 18 V battery as the other tools in the Yato range.
The unit is not suitable for vacuuming liquids, wet dirt, hot ash or flammable substances, or for continuous industrial dust extraction.

Instructions for using the Yato cordless vacuum 18V, body only:
Preparation: Remove the dust container by pressing the locking button and pulling the container off the body. Pull out the filter and detach it from the base by twisting. Clean the container and filter, fit the filter to the base and place it in the container so that the shapes match. Attach the container to the body; a correctly attached container sits flush all the way round its edge.
Nozzles: Push the nozzle you want into the front opening of the container, directly or via an extension tube. The tubes and nozzles fit together only the right way round.
Battery: Push a charged Yato 18 V battery into the battery slot until the latch locks. Remove the battery by pressing the latch and pulling the battery out.
Use: Push the switch forward with your thumb until the I mark is visible; the vacuum starts and the switch stays in position. Stop it by pushing the switch back to the 0 position. If the suction drops or the motor sounds louder, switch off the unit, remove the battery, empty the container and check the tubes and nozzles for blockages.
Maintenance: Remove the battery before maintenance. Check the container and filter after every use. Clean the outer surface and filter with compressed air at max. 0.3 MPa or with a soft cloth; do not immerse the vacuum in water and do not clean the ventilation openings with sharp metal objects.
Warnings:
- Dry use only: vacuuming water, wet ash or other wet waste is prohibited (risk of electric shock).
- Do not vacuum hot, glowing or burning objects; the temperature of the dirt vacuumed must not exceed 40 °C.
- Indoor use only; not in explosive atmospheres, and not near heat sources or open flames.
- Keep the ventilation openings clear: covered openings can make the unit overheat.
- Switch off the unit and remove the battery before changing accessories, cleaning and maintenance, and after every use.
- Children aged 8 and over and people with reduced capabilities may use the unit only under supervision; children must not play with the unit.
- Use only Yato 18 V batteries and chargers; do not short-circuit, dismantle or burn the battery.
