Description
Yato cordless hammer drill 120 Nm 4 Ah set includes a brushless 18-volt hammer drill/driver, an auxiliary handle, two 4.0 Ah Li-Ion batteries and a charger. The maximum torque of the drill is 120 Nm, and the two-speed gearbox gives speeds of 0–500 / 0–1800 min⁻¹ and impact rates of 0–8500 / 0–29750 min⁻¹. The self-centring keyless chuck holds bits with shanks up to 13 mm .
With three functions, screwing, drilling and hammer drilling , the same tool covers driving screws, drilling holes in wood and metal, and drilling in concrete, brick and stone. The maximum drilling diameters are 25 mm in wood, 16 mm in concrete and 20 mm in steel. The impact function is intended only for hard masonry materials; wood and plastic are drilled without impact.
The adjustment ring behind the chuck selects the torque setting, drilling or hammer drilling, and the overload clutch limits the screwing torque. The trigger has stepless electronic speed control, and the spindle brake, direction switch and LED work light make work easier. Because of the high torque, the tool is always used with the supplied auxiliary handle.
The brushless motor transfers power efficiently and reduces wear. The tool weighs 1.3 kg, sound pressure level 82 dB(A), the sound power level 90 dB(A) and vibration 11.5 m/s² when drilling concrete. The charger charges a 4 Ah battery in about 2 hours, and the batteries fit other devices in the Yato 18V system.
Uses and suitability:
The Yato cordless hammer drill 120 Nm 4 Ah is designed for installation, renovation and fixing work involving drilling in wood and metal as well as concrete and brick. The body-only model of the same drill is the Yato cordless impact drill 18V 120Nm, brushless motor, body only; for lighter work, choose the Yato cordless impact drill 18V 75Nm + 3 AH battery and charger set. A suitable extra charger is the Yato battery charger 18V 2.2A.

Yato cordless hammer drill 120 Nm 4 Ah user instructions:
1. Charging the batteries: The batteries are supplied uncharged. Slide the battery into the charger slot and plug the charger into a socket; the indicator light shows charging and a full battery. Charge indoors in a dry place under supervision.
2. Auxiliary handle: Screw the end of the auxiliary handle into the hole in the body and tighten it firmly. Always use the tool with the auxiliary handle.
3. Fitting the bit: Remove the battery, place a cylindrical shank bit or bit holder in the chuck and tighten the chuck by hand.
4. Gear and function: Select the low gear for screwing and the high gear for drilling. Set the adjustment ring to the lowest working number for screwing, to the drill symbol for drilling wood and metal, and to the hammer symbol for drilling concrete. The numbered positions are not used for drilling.
5. Direction of rotation: Select R for drilling and fastening or L for removing screws. The direction is changed only when the tool has stopped.
6. Drilling concrete: First drill a smaller hole without impact and then the actual hole with the impact function using a carbide bit in good condition. Pull the bit out from time to time to remove drilling dust.
7. Maintenance: Remove the battery before maintenance. Clean the body and ventilation openings with compressed air (max. 0.3 MPa), a brush or a dry cloth. Take breaks; the temperature of the outer surfaces must not exceed 60 °C. Store the batteries at 0–30 °C at about 70% charge.
Warnings:
- Hearing protection: Wear hearing protection, especially when hammer drilling.
- Personal protective equipment: Wear safety glasses and protective gloves.
- Auxiliary handle and reaction torque: The 120 Nm torque can twist the tool if the bit jams; hold it with both hands and use the auxiliary handle.
- Battery out before adjustments: Change bits, make adjustments and carry out maintenance only with the battery removed.
- Hidden wiring: Hold the tool by the insulated gripping surfaces if the bit may hit a live cable.
- Long drill bits: Start at low speed with the bit against the workpiece and do not exceed the maximum speed of the bit.
- Charger and batteries: Use only the supplied charger and Yato 18V batteries, charge in a dry place under adult supervision and do not short-circuit the terminals.
- Children: Keep the drill, batteries and charger out of the reach of children.
