Description
Yato cordless impact wrench 1200 Nm 4 Ah (YT-828071) is a brushless 18 V cordless impact wrench with a 1/2″ (12.7 mm) square drive, supplied with a 4.0 Ah Li-Ion battery and a charger. The maximum torque is 1200 Nm, and the wrench weighs 1.9 kg without the battery. Thanks to its compact size and light weight, the wrench can also be used overhead.
The wrench has three speed and torque settings: 0–1400, 0–1900 and 0–2400 min⁻¹, and the impact rate is 2200 impacts/min. The setting is selected with the function button on the base control panel, and the number of lit indicator lights (1–3) shows the selected level. Anticlockwise rotation offers an intermittent A mode, intended for loosening nuts and bolts.
The battery capacity is 4000 mAh, and the charging time is about 2 h; the charger output is 21.5 V DC and 2.2 A. In addition to the brushless motor, the features include a spindle brake, a direction switch, a battery charge indicator and an LED work light. When tightening, the overload clutch disengages the square drive once the maximum torque is reached.
The package includes a 1/2″–1/4″ bit adapterfor fitting 1/4″ hex screwdriver bits to the wrench. To transfer full torque to the bolt, use 1/2″ CrMo impact sockets. The declared sound pressure level is 98 ± 3.0 dB(A), the sound power level 106 ± 3.0 dB(A) and the vibration value 19.00 ± 1.5 m/s².
Uses and suitability:
The wrench is designed for loosening and tightening bolts and nuts in car workshops and on construction sites. For jobs that need more torque, choose the model with a 3/4″ drive, Yato cordless impact wrench 18V 2400Nm + 6 Ah battery and charger, and if you already own Yato 18 V batteries, a lighter option is the Yato cordless impact wrench 18V 850Nm, body only.
- Car workshops: loosening and tightening wheel nuts and chassis and suspension bolts with 1/2″ impact sockets.
- Construction sites: bolted joints in steel structures, scaffolding and brackets without compressed air or mains power.
- Overhead work: the 1.9 kg weight and compact body make it easier to work in a raised position, for example under a vehicle on a lift.
- Yato 18 V battery system: the wrench uses the same Yato 18 V Li-Ion batteries as the other tools in the range.
Package contents:
- Yato cordless impact wrench 18 V 1/2″ 1200 Nm
- Bit adapter 1/2″ → 1/4″
- Yato 18 V Li-Ion battery 4.0 Ah
- Charger
Features:
- Brushless motor: no replaceable carbon brushes; the motor runs on a Yato 18 V Li-Ion battery.
- Three speed and torque settings: 0–1400, 0–1900 and 0–2400 min⁻¹ in clockwise rotation; 1, 2 or 3 lit indicator lights show low, medium or high speed and torque.
- A mode: in anticlockwise rotation, each press of the trigger turns the fastener only for a short period; the mode is intended for loosening nuts and bolts.
- Variable speed control: how far the trigger is pressed determines the speed and torque.
- Overload clutch: disengages the square drive once the maximum torque is reached.
- 4.0 Ah battery and fast charging: the 4000 mAh Li-Ion battery charges in about 2 hours with the included charger.
- 1/2″ square drive and 1/4″ bit adapter: fits 1/2″ impact sockets and, with the adapter, 1/4″ hex bits.
- Spindle brake and reversing: the fastener stops when the trigger is released; the direction of rotation is changed with the switch above the trigger.
- LED work light and charge indicator: lights up the work area; the indicator shows the battery charge level on the control panel.
- Light body: 1.9 kg without the battery, which makes overhead work easier.

Yato cordless impact wrench 1200 Nm 4 Ah user instructions:
Read the entire user manual before first use. Always change the socket or adapter with the battery removed.
- Charging: the battery is supplied uncharged. Slide the battery into the charger slot and plug the charger into a socket; a flashing green light means charging and a steady light means a full battery. Charge only indoors in a dry place under supervision.
- Choosing the socket: choose a 1/2″ impact socket that fits the part to be loosened or tightened and fit it to the square drive (screwdriver bits via the 1/4″ adapter).
- Direction of rotation and stage: select the direction with the direction switch and attach the battery to the base. In clockwise rotation, select torque setting 1–3 with the function button; in anticlockwise rotation, the button switches A mode on or off.
- Starting: screw the nut or bolt onto the thread by hand at least two turns, place the socket over the nut or bolt head and grip the wrench with both hands.
- Tightening and loosening: press the trigger; the further it is pressed, the higher the speed. When the impact mechanism starts hammering and the joint is tight, release the trigger, because continued tightening can damage threads and fasteners.
- Finishing and maintenance: remove the battery and clean the housing and ventilation openings with a dry cloth, a brush or compressed air at no more than 0.3 MPa, without chemicals. Store the battery at 0–30 °C charged to about 70%. Have faults repaired at an authorised service centre using original spare parts.
Warnings:
- Hearing protection: the sound power level is 106 dB(A), so always wear hearing protection and safety glasses.
- Grip: hold the wrench with both hands by its insulated gripping surfaces; the fastener may hit a hidden electrical wire.
- Vibration: vibration value 19.00 m/s²; take regular breaks and limit continuous use.
- Sockets: use only sockets designed for impact use; ordinary hand tool sockets can crack.
- Overload: the temperature of the outer surfaces must not exceed 60 °C.
- Accidental starting: remove the battery before changing the socket, making adjustments, maintenance and storage.
- Battery: do not use a damaged battery or short-circuit its terminals; if electrolyte gets into the eyes, rinse with water and seek medical attention.
- Charger: charge only with the included charger, indoors in a dry place under adult supervision; unplug the charger immediately if it produces smoke or an odour.
- Children: store the wrench and batteries out of the reach of children.
