Description
Yato cordless impact wrench 700 Nm 3 Ah is a brushless 18 V impact wrench with a 1/2″ square drive and two-stage torque selection 350 / 700 Nm. The set includes a 3 Ah Li-Ion battery, a fast charger, a 1/2″–1/4″ bit adapter and a carrying bag.
The impact wrench is designed for tightening and loosening nuts and bolts. The impact mechanism engages when the resistance of the joint increases, and the drive delivers tangential impacts at a rate of 0–5000 impacts/min. The no-load speed is 0–2000 min⁻¹ in the lower and 0–2600 min⁻¹ in the higher torque stage. The impact mechanism and gearbox are designed for high torque, so the tool is suitable for loosening wheel nuts on cars and vans, for example.
The brushless motor works without wearing carbon brushes, so friction and heat generation are lower than in a brushed motor. The speed is adjusted steplessly by pressing the start switch (potentiometer), and the tool has a reversing switch, a spindle brake and battery cell overheating protection. Coloured indicator lights on the control panel show the selected torque stage and the battery charge level in four stages.
The tool weighs 1.8 kg, and its insulation class is III and IP rating IPX0. The tool belongs to the Yato 18V system: the same slide batteries fit the other devices in the system, and the body-only version of the same impact wrench is YT-828061.
Uses and suitability:
The impact wrench is suitable for tightening and loosening screw joints where mains power is not available. Choose 1/2″ sockets designed for impact use, for example the Yato deep socket set 1/2″ 11-piece 10-24 mm CrMo SCM-440, and with the bit adapter, impact-resistant 1/4″ bits such as the Yato impact bit set 37-piece. For applications requiring more torque, the range includes the Yato cordless impact wrench 18V 850Nm, body only.
- Wheel changing: Loosening wheel nuts on cars and vans; tightening is done in the lower torque stage, and final tightening with a torque wrench to the vehicle manufacturer’s value.
- Vehicle and machine repair: Loosening screw joints in the chassis, suspension and brackets with the pulsed release mode, which runs the drive for a short time at a time.
- Installation and construction work: Tightening and dismantling screw joints on threaded rods, anchor bolts, steel structures and scaffolding.
- Screwdriving with the bit adapter: With the 1/2″–1/4″ hex adapter, impact-resistant bits can be fitted to the tool, for example for driving long wood screws.
- Sites without mains power: The tool uses Yato 18V system batteries YT-828461 (2 Ah), YT-828462 (3 Ah) and YT-828463 (4 Ah).

Yato cordless impact wrench 700 Nm 3 Ah user manual:
Carry out all preparation and assembly with the battery removed. Read the entire user manual before first use.
- Charging the battery: The battery is supplied uncharged. Insert the battery into the charger and plug the charger into a socket; the red indicator light is lit while charging and the green one comes on when the battery is full. Charge only in a dry place under supervision.
- Fitting the socket: Fit an impact socket of the right size for the fastener to the drive. Screw the nut or bolt onto the thread by hand at least two turns before using the tool.
- Direction and torque stage: Select the direction of rotation with the reversing switch. For clockwise rotation, select the lower (one red indicator light) or higher (two red lights) torque stage on the control panel; for anticlockwise rotation, the continuous or pulsed release mode.
- Working: Insert the battery, hold the tool with both hands and place the socket on the nut before starting. How far the switch is pressed adjusts speed and torque.
- Tightening: When the impact mechanism starts hammering and the joint has tightened, release the switch. Tightening for longer can damage the threads and joint parts.
- Loosening: Make sure the tightening torque of the joint does not exceed the maximum torque of the tool, otherwise the overload clutch engages and the nut does not come loose.
- Finishing and maintenance: Wait for the motor to stop, remove the battery and clean the body, ventilation openings and switches with compressed air (max. 0.3 MPa), a brush or a dry cloth without chemicals.
- Battery storage: Store the battery at 0–30 °C at about 70% charge and charge it once a year during long-term storage.
Warnings:
- Protective equipment: Wear safety glasses, hearing protection and protective gloves.
- Noise: The sound power level is 97 dB(A); hearing protection is essential.
- Hidden wiring: Hold the tool by its insulated gripping surfaces if the fastener may hit a live wire.
- Accidental starting: Make sure the switch is in the off position before inserting the battery; remove the battery before changing the socket and before maintenance.
- Vehicle wheels: The torque of an impact wrench does not replace a torque wrench; check the tightening torque of wheel nuts according to the vehicle manufacturer’s instructions.
- Not for driving accessories: The tool must not be used as a power source for accessories.
- Moisture: IP rating IPX0: do not expose to rain or moisture.
- Battery and charger: Use only Yato 18V batteries and the supplied charger. Do not short-circuit the battery terminals or use a damaged battery or charger.
- Heating: Do not overload the tool; the outer surface temperature must not exceed 60 °C.
