Description
Yato cordless lawn mower 2x18V 37 cm set (YT-85222) includes a push-along cordless lawn mower, two 18 V 4 Ah Li-Ion batteries and a dual fast charger, so the set is ready to use after charging. The mower runs on two batteries connected in series, i.e. at a voltage of 36 V; the cutting width is 370 mm and the cutting height is adjusted centrally with a single lever to six positions, 25–75 mm.
The motor is brushless, and the blade’s rated speed is 2900 rpm. The mode selector offers ECOmode, which saves battery, and AUTOmode, which adapts the speed to the load. The four-stage charge display on the handle shows the remaining charge, and battery cell overheating protection cuts the power when needed.
The grass collector has a capacity of 35 land a full indicator. The mower can also be used without the collector, in which case the discharge plug mulches the clippings onto the lawn (mulching). The wheels are 150 mm in diameter at the front and 200 mm at the rear. The handle is padded, adjustable to three heights and folds with quick-release locks; the mower can be stored upright.
The batteries in the set are 4 Ah / 72 Wh, and the dual fast charger (YT-82849) charges both batteries at the same time in about 2 hours. The same batteries fit all tools in the Yato 18 V range. The operating switch has a lock-off button and a safety key, the IP rating is IPX1 and the mower weighs 13.5 kg. Thanks to battery operation, the mower is considerably quieter than petrol mowers (LpA 76.1 dB(A)).
Uses and suitability:
The Yato cordless lawn mower 2x18V 37 cm set is intended for regular mowing of home gardens and small lawn areas without an extension cable.
- Detached and terraced house gardens: the 37 cm cutting width and 35 l collector suit small and medium-sized lawns with corners and narrow paths.
- Cottage gardens with no power point: two 4 Ah batteries and a dual fast charger are enough for cottage use; the batteries also fit other tools in the range, for example the Yato cordless hedge trimmer 18V 45 cm, body only.
- Mulching: with the discharge plug, the clippings stay on the lawn as fertiliser.
- Other cutting widths as sets: Yato cordless lawn mower 2 x 18V 34 cm + 2×4.0 Ah battery and charger for smaller and Yato cordless lawn mower 2 x 18V 43 cm + 2×4.0 Ah battery and charger for larger gardens.

Instructions for using the Yato cordless lawn mower 2x18V 37 cm:
Charging: charge the batteries before first use: push the batteries into the charger and plug the charger into a socket; the red LED is lit while charging and the green one when the battery is full (about 2 h). Charge only indoors under adult supervision.
Assembly: attach the lower handle brackets next to the rear wheels with the levers (three angle positions), attach the handle to the brackets with the levers and washers, and fix the switch cable with the clip. Hang the grass collector on the hooks on the rear wall of the body with the discharge chute cover raised. Without the collector, the discharge plug must be in place and the cover closed.
Cutting height: pull the adjustment lever out of the guide slot, move it to the required position (25–75 mm) and lock it in the slot. Adjust only when the mower is switched off, the key removed and the batteries removed.
Batteries: open the battery compartment cover, push in both equally fully charged batteries until the latches lock, and close the cover. Insert the safety key in the socket on the housing.
Starting: press the lock-off button in the middle of the switch and pull both switch levers against the handle; keep the levers pressed with both hands. Releasing the levers stops the mower; the blade keeps turning for a moment.
Mowing: check the area for objects and cables, cut only dry grass and no more than a third of the blade length at a time. Push the mower forwards as you walk, in slightly overlapping rows; mow across slopes. Empty the collector regularly.
Maintenance: remove the key and batteries, and clean the body and ventilation openings with a brush or cloth (compressed air max. 0.3 MPa); do not wash with a water jet. Lightly oil the cutting edges of the blade. Replace the blade with an original one every two years or 50 operating hours. Wash the collector in lukewarm soapy water and dry it in the operating position.
Battery storage: 0–30 °C, at about 70% charge; charge once a year during long-term storage. Store the mower in a dry, frost-free place at 10–30 °C, upright with the handle folded if needed.
Warnings:
- Read the instruction manual before use. Wear sturdy footwear, long trousers, safety glasses and ear defenders.
- Keep hands and feet away from the rotating blade. The blade keeps turning for a moment after the switch is released.
- Keep children, pets and bystanders away from the mowing area: objects thrown out are a hazard.
- Do not cut wet grass and do not expose the unit to rain (IPX1). Do not mow on steep slopes.
- Always push the mower forwards; do not pull it towards you. Walk, do not run.
- Always remove the safety key and the batteries before adjusting, cleaning, changing the blade and transport, and whenever you leave the unit.
- Charge the batteries only with the supplied charger, indoors and under supervision; do not use a damaged charger or battery and do not short-circuit the battery terminals. For transport, remove the batteries and protect the terminals.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
What is included in the Yato cordless lawn mower 2x18V 37 cm set? The mower with its collector, two 18 V 4 Ah Li-Ion batteries and a dual fast charger that charges both batteries in about 2 hours.
Do the batteries in the set fit other Yato tools? Yes, the batteries are standard Yato 18 V system batteries and fit all 18 V and 2 x 18 V tools in the range.
Can the mower mulch the grass onto the lawn? Yes. When the collector is removed and the discharge plug fitted, the clippings stay finely chopped on the lawn.
What is the difference between ECO and AUTO modes? ECO keeps the speed low and extends battery life; AUTO raises the speed as the load increases.
Does the mower work with one battery? No. The batteries are connected in series, and the mower starts only when both batteries are in place and charged.
How often is the blade replaced? With an original blade every two years or 50 operating hours, or earlier if the blade is worn or damaged.
Recycling instructions:
Sort the cardboard packaging into cardboard collection and the plastic bags into plastic collection. A discarded Yato cordless lawn mower 2x18V 37 cm and its charger are waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE): they must not be disposed of with mixed waste but taken to a WEEE collection point or the retailer. Return the Li-Ion batteries separately to a battery collection point with the terminals taped; a damaged battery must not be transported unprotected. A worn blade is steel scrap suitable for metal collection.
