Description
The Yato digital measuring wheel is a modern solution for accurately measuring complex, curved and irregular surfaces. This compact measuring device can record distances from 0.05 metres up to 99.9 metres. This makes it an excellent tool for situations where a conventional rigid tape measure cannot reach or follow difficult shapes. The clear LCD display shows the measurements in real time, and the user can choose centimetres, feet or inches as the display unit to suit the job.
The device is powered by an integrated 3.7 V, 200 mAh lithium polymer battery that charges through a standard USB-C port. Smart power management, such as automatic switch-off after three minutes of inactivity and a low battery indicator on the display, ensures that the battery lasts even through long measuring tasks. Measuring is made as simple as possible: you roll the device along the surface and the system calculates the distance with a margin of error of ±0.5%.
Designed to measure only 73 x 37 x 17.5 millimetres and weigh 31 grams, the electronic measuring wheel fits unobtrusively in a pocket. A built-in memory function lets you save previous measurements and review them later. This reduces the need to write things down constantly and makes recording successive distances at the workplace much faster.
Intended use:
This digital measuring wheel is designed especially to overcome the limitations of conventional measuring tools, whatever the shape of the surface.
- Measuring curved surfaces: The rolling mechanism is excellent for following the outside dimensions of pipes, cylinders and other round objects.
- Mapping irregular shapes: Lets you measure a continuous line on objects with complex angles, undulations or folds without lifting the device off the surface in between.
- Recording long distances: With a measuring capacity of up to 99.9 metres, it can measure long lines in one continuous run without interruptions from length limits.
Package contents:
The pack contains the following parts:
- Yato YT-70990 digital measuring wheel with built-in battery
- Wrist strap
- USB-C charging cable
- User guide
Features:
- Versatile measuring range: The wide range of 0.05 – 99.9 metres covers most length measuring needs, from perfectly straight distances to large areas.
- Measurement memory: Measurements can be saved in the device’s memory, so you do not have to write readings down immediately after each run.
- Multi-unit display: Switching between units (cm, in, ft) speeds up reading drawings and working to different standards.
- Automatic switch-off: The device switches off automatically after 3 minutes of non-use, which optimises battery life by preventing unnecessary discharge.
- Compact, ergonomic design: The small, very light body makes the device unobtrusive to carry and easy to operate with one hand.

Yato digital measuring wheel instructions for use:
Before first use, make sure the battery is sufficiently charged by connecting the device to a suitable USB power source. Switch the device on by pressing the power button; the LCD display comes on and shows the current reading. Select the unit you want (centimetre, inch or foot) in the settings. To start measuring, place the measuring wheel exactly at the starting point of the line or surface to be measured. Roll the device along the surface at an even speed; the display updates the distance travelled in real time. When the measurement is complete, the reading can be saved in the device’s internal memory for later review if you wish. Keep the wheel clean of debris and dust by wiping it regularly with a soft cloth to keep the sensor measuring accurately.
Warnings:
To ensure safe use and trouble-free operation of the electronics, observe the following limitations.
- Moisture and liquids: Do not use the digital device in the rain or in conditions where it can be exposed to direct water splashes. Liquid getting inside the device or the USB port damages the battery and control circuits.
- Extreme temperatures: Avoid using the device outside the specified temperature range of 0 – +40 ˚C. Conditions that are too hot or too cold significantly weaken the performance of the lithium polymer battery.
- Mechanical stress: Do not drop the measuring wheel or expose it to heavy impacts. A physical blow to the wheel or body can damage the calibration of the measuring sensor and distort the results.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
- Can the device measure soft materials?: Yes, the measuring wheel can be used on most materials. It only needs enough friction for the rubberised measuring wheel to turn on the surface of the material without slipping.
- Is a charging cable included in the pack?: Yes, this pack contains the measuring wheel itself, a charging cable and the instructions. Any ordinary USB-C charging cable and power source can be used to charge the battery. A power adapter is not included.
- How long does the battery last on one charge?: The integrated 200 mAh battery, energy-efficient LCD display and three-minute automatic switch-off guarantee a very long running time. In typical use, the battery allows countless measurements before it needs recharging.
Recycling instructions:
The product contains electronic control circuits and a built-in lithium polymer battery (Li-Po). Under no circumstances may the device be disposed of with ordinary mixed waste at the end of its life. Take it to an official local collection point for waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) for proper, safe recovery of the battery. The cardboard packaging materials and instructions can be sorted into ordinary cardboard collection.
