Description

The Kapro 301 T-Bevel is an adjustable sliding bevel for measuring, copying and transferring angles. The blade is stainless steel with permanently etched scales (cm/in), which makes referencing length and position easier. The side and base of the handle have a 5 mm trim gauge that speeds up aligning gaps and trims. The integrated, easy-to-read cylindrical vial helps you check straightness and level while you work.

The handle has preset angle markings for 15°, 30°, 45°, 60° and 75°, which make setting repeated basic angles quick without separate aids. The blade and clamping bolt are steel, and the handle has grippy rubber inserts. The body is rigid, and locking is by screw clamping, which holds the set angle in place during transfer and marking.

The 301 T-Bevel is particularly suited to woodwork and interior work, furniture and trim installation and copying angles from asymmetric structures. The 7″/15 cm blade length is compact for spaces that require precise fitting, for example for markings made with saws and mitre saws. The product is light (weight approx. 113 g) and travels easily on a tool belt or in a toolbox.

Typical uses include transferring angles to trim work, marking mitres, copying the angles of railings and stairs, and tiling and panelling work with many varying angles. The built-in vial adds value in alignment and levelling, as the same tool checks both the angle and the level.

The permanent markings and metal construction withstand site conditions. The product is part of Kapro’s Squares & Angles range, whose dimensions and markings support woodworking and construction applications.

Intended use:

  • Joinery and furniture installation (transferring angles, for example from site to workshop): copy the angles of curves and sloping walls and transfer them to the saw guide/mitre saw. The 5 mm trim gauge makes it easier to fit clearances between trim and frame, and the vial helps keep the piece straight while marking.

  • Trim work and finishing (repeated 15°–75° angles from the handle markings): set 45° mitres or special angles quickly without a separate protractor. The screw lock ensures that the angle does not change during transfer, which is critical for a neat joint.

  • Construction and interiors (marking and transferring the angles of stairs, railings, panelling and tiling from uneven structures): the permanent cm/in markings on the blade help with length reference and layout, and the vial speeds up alignment.

  • General maintenance and renovation (a multi-purpose aid when angles need checking and copying in confined spaces): the light construction (approx. 113 g) reduces hand strain in repetitive work.

Features:

  • Blade: Stainless steel, permanently etched markings (cm/in): withstands wear and stays legible for a long time.

  • Angle markings on the handle: 15°, 30°, 45°, 60°, 75°: speeds up setting repeated basic angles without a separate protractor.

  • Trim gauge: Built-in 5 mm gauge on the side and base of the handle: makes it easier to align gaps and trims and get a neat installation.

  • Locking: Rigid screw lock: locks the blade angle reliably while the angle is transferred.

  • Vial: Easy-to-read cylindrical vial: lets you check straightness and level with the same tool.

  • Handle: Rubber inserts: a secure grip even in dusty or slightly damp conditions.

  • Length: 7″ / 15 cm: compact and agile for confined installation spots.

Kapro 301 T-Bevel instructions for use:

  1. Copying an angle: Open the locking screw. Place the edge of the blade against the reference surface and turn the handle until the blade follows the target angle. Tighten the screw. Transfer to the workpiece and draw, or adjust the saw to match the angle of the blade.

  2. Setting basic angles: Use the 15°–75° angle markings on the handle for repeated mitres. Place the blade against the marking and lock the angle. This reduces errors and speeds up work.

  3. Trim gauge 5 mm: Use the 5 mm trim gauge on the side/base of the handle to mark an adjustment gap, e.g. in trim work, before sawing or installing.

  4. Using the vial: Place the tool on the piece and check that the bubble is centred when you mark or fit parts. Combine with angle transfer so that both the angle and the level are correct.

  5. Maintenance: Clean dust and glue residue off the blade and handle after use. Wipe lightly with an oiled cloth to prevent corrosion. Do not store the tool clamped tight for long periods; loosen the lock to preserve the elasticity of the shaft.

Warnings:

  • Do not use the blade as a lever or chisel, as this can damage the locking mechanism.

  • Avoid working with the blade loose: the angle can change and cause incorrect markings or a safety risk.

  • Keep your fingers away from between the blade and the handle when tightening the lock.

  • Do not expose to prolonged moisture or corrosive chemicals; clean and dry after use.

  • Keep out of reach of children.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ):

What is the advantage of a sliding bevel over a protractor?
A sliding bevel copies the angle directly from the object to the workpiece without reading the angle value, which reduces errors and speeds up work. The angle markings on the handle help with basic angles.

Does the 301 T-Bevel have a measuring scale?
Yes. The blade has permanently etched cm/in markings as a reference for length and layout.

Can the tool check level?
Yes, the body has a cylindrical vial that lets you check straightness and level while marking.

How long is the blade?
About 7″ / 15 cm; the compact length makes it easier to use in confined spots.

How does the angle stay in place during transfer?
Screw clamping locks the blade so that the set angle does not change while marking or transferring.

Recycling instructions:

  • Packaging: Sort the product card packaging and any cardboard/plastic parts according to local instructions (cardboard, plastic).

  • Product: Metal parts (blade, bolt) to recycled metal. Rubber/assembly plastics to energy recovery or the plastic fraction depending on the local system. Separate different materials before recycling where possible.
