The Yato cup brush (Ø125 mm, M14) is a nylon fibre brush for angle grinders, for removing coatings and cleaning surfaces. Nylon fibre works with a softer contact than steel or brass wire, which reduces scratching of the base material, especially on wood and other soft substrates. The brush is also suitable for removing dirt and concrete residues from tools and equipment.

The brush has an M14 standard threaded fitting, which is compatible with the spindles of common 115–125 mm angle grinders in Europe. The maximum speed is 6,500 rpm, which covers typical low and medium-speed brushing uses. The cup body makes the fibres work evenly across the whole working width, and the shape makes it easier to treat corners, edges and large flat surfaces.

The advantage of nylon is spark-free working and a gentler load on the material. Yato cup brush: instructions for use:

1. Fitting: Disconnect the angle grinder from the power supply. Screw the brush onto the M14 thread and tighten according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

2. Starting: Use a guard. Set the speed to no more than 6,500 rpm. Try it on a small area first.

3. Working: Hold the brush at a slight angle and let the fibres do the work. Avoid excessive pressure so that the fibre does not overheat or “melt”. Make even sweeps.

4. Cooling and cleaning: Stop regularly and remove loose material. If necessary, use light wetting to control dust (not near electrical equipment).

5. Finishing: Remove the brush only after the machine has stopped. Clean and check the fibres; replace if wear is uneven.

Maintenance and storage: Store in a dry place, protected from solvents and UV radiation. Do not expose it to flat pressure, which can change the shape of the fibres.

Can the brush remove paint from metal?
Yes, but nylon is softer than steel wire. On metal the removal rate is moderate; choose nylon, brass or steel wire case by case.

Does nylon leave scratches in wood?
It leaves fewer than metal wire. Heavy pressure can still cause polishing or “melting” of the fibres, so use light pressure and take breaks.

Is the brush suitable for removing rust?
Yes for cleaning up light surface rust. For thick rust, a steel wire cup brush or a flap disc is more effective.

Why is the speed limit important?
Too high a speed heats the nylon, softens the fibre and impairs the result. Stay within the limit and let the fibres do the work.
