Description
The Yato fan heater PTC is a portable electric fan heater for heating spaces and supporting drying on construction and renovation sites. The models are 2 kW (YT-99700), 3 kW (YT-99705) and 5 kW (YT-99710), and according to the manufacturer their maximum heating areas are 20, 30 and 48 m².
The heating element is of the PTC type, and the mode switch selects one of three modes: fan only, half power and full power (e.g. YT-99700: 25 / 1000 / 2000 W). The thermostat switches the heating element on and off to maintain the set heater temperature; the device has no room temperature sensor.
The body is powder-coated metal, and the device has overheating protection and an indicator light. The 2 kW and 3 kW models are connected to an ordinary 230 V socket, while the 5 kW model requires 400 V three-phase power and has an IPX4 enclosure rating.
The Yato fan heater PTC is placed on the floor at least 3 metres from people, walls and objects, and it is not mounted on a wall or ceiling. An LPG-powered alternative intended for larger, well-ventilated spaces is the Yato gas heater 15 kW, and radiant heat for spot heating is provided by the Yato infrared heater 2000W with remote control.
Intended use and suitability:
The PTC fan heater is designed for heating spaces. It produces no combustion gases, so it is also suitable for spaces where a gas heater must not be used.
- Workshops, garages and halls: temporary additional heat.
- Construction and renovation sites: heating and supporting drying.
- Choosing the model: 2 kW approx. 20 m², 3 kW approx. 30 m², 5 kW approx. 48 m² (5 kW requires a 400 V 3~ connection).
The device must not be used in flammable, potentially explosive, very dusty or damp environments, or in spaces where there are animals.

Yato fan heater PTC instructions for use:
Preparation: Unpack the device and check that it is not damaged. Place the heater on a horizontal, hard, stable and heat-resistant surface at least 3 m from people, walls and objects, away from damp places and flammable materials.
Electrical connection: Set the mode switch to 0 before connecting. Connect directly to a single socket; the circuit must have a protective earth conductor and 16 A protection. An extension cable must have the same number of conductors and at least the same cross-section as the power cable. YT-99710 is connected to a 400 V three-phase socket.
Operation: Turn the thermostat to MAX and select the mode: fan, half power or full power. The thermostat maintains the set heater temperature by switching the element on and off.
Switching off and maintenance: Turn the thermostat to MAX and let the device run in fan mode for about two minutes to cool the element, turn the switch to 0 and unplug the device. Clean the cold device with a damp cloth and the ventilation openings with compressed air at no more than 0.3 MPa. The manufacturer’s instruction manual has been translated into Finnish and Swedish in a separate PDF file.
Warnings:
- Hot surface: risk of burns and fire. Never cover the device. Do not move it while hot; carry it by the handle.
- Do not leave unattended while connected to the mains. No timer or automatic start.
- Not directly below a socket, and not near baths, showers or swimming pools.
- IPX0 models (2 kW, 3 kW) for indoor use only; not in direct rain.
- No room thermostat: not for small rooms occupied by people who cannot leave the room on their own, unless under constant supervision.
- Keep children under 3 away from the device; children aged 3–8 may only switch it on/off under supervision.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
Which Yato fan heater PTC model suits my space? The manufacturer’s heating areas are 20 m² (2 kW), 30 m² (3 kW) and 48 m² (5 kW); the actual need depends on the insulation of the space and the temperature difference.
Does the 5 kW model work from an ordinary socket? No. YT-99710 requires a 380–400 V three-phase connection; the 2 kW and 3 kW models work on 230 V.
Can the fan heater be used outdoors? The 2 and 3 kW models are IPX0 and are not suitable for outdoor use; the 5 kW model is IPX4, but no model may be exposed to direct rain.
Does the thermostat control the room temperature? No. The thermostat maintains the temperature of the heater; there is no room temperature sensor.
Why does the device need to cool down in fan mode? The manufacturer instructs you to cool the element by running the fan for about two minutes before switching off the power.
Recycling instructions:
The Yato fan heater PTC is electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and must not be disposed of with mixed waste. Take the device to a WEEE collection point at the end of its service life. Sort the cardboard and plastics of the packaging into their own fractions.
