Description

The Yato wheel brush M6 75 mm stainless steel is a wheel brush for drills made of stainless steel wire, for mechanical cleaning and preparation of metal surfaces. The crimped wire construction gives a moderate, even cut that suits even large surfaces without excessive material removal. The compact Ø75 mm size allows precise control on edges, in corners and in tight spots.

The stainless steel (INOX) wire withstands moisture and outdoor conditions and reduces the risk of iron contamination on stainless steel surfaces. This is useful in maintenance jobs where the surface needs to be prepared for coating, bonding or painting while keeping the geometry of the base material.

The M6 fitting allows straight, centred fitting in the drill chuck or a suitable adapter. The adjustable speed of the drill makes work controlled on thin sheet and heat-sensitive surfaces. With the right working parameters, brushing produces a uniform microstructure that improves the adhesion of primer and coatings.

Typical uses are removing rust and flaking paint residues from railings, stair parts, sheet structures and machine parts, cleaning oxide layers off weld areas, and general pre-cleaning before chemical or mechanical finishing steps.

Intended use:

  • Removing rust and paint residues from metal surfaces: Crimped wire opens up corrosion and weak coating layers, leaving an even roughness. The small diameter allows precise control on profiles and in corners, which makes work easier on railings, stair parts and machine components. The work progresses in a controlled way with light to moderate pressure and a moderate speed.

  • Cleaning oxides and small spatter from weld areas: The brush removes heat-zone oxides and spatter before grinding, passivation or painting. The flexibility of crimped wire reduces the formation of deep grooves compared with more aggressive knotted wire brushes, which speeds up later finishing steps.

  • Keying the surface before coating/bonding: Mechanical keying creates a uniform microstructure without heavy material removal. This improves the mechanical adhesion of primer, coatings and adhesives, especially on smooth sheet surfaces and thin profiles.

  • Maintenance in damp and outdoor conditions: The corrosion resistance of the INOX wire allows use on outdoor steel structures and in damp rooms. Particles coming off the brush do not promote new rust spots in the same way as carbon steel wire.

Features:

  • Diameter: 75 mm – Precise work in tight spots and on edges.

  • Fitting: M6 – Straight, centred fitting in the drill chuck/adapter.

  • Bristle material: Stainless steel wire (INOX), crimped wire – Moderate aggressiveness and corrosion resistance.

  • Construction: Wheel brush – Suitable for flat surfaces and brushing along edges.

  • Applications: Rust, paint, oxide, light spatter – Pre-cleaning and keying before coating.

  • Use: Adjustable speed – Avoid overheating; use light to moderate pressure to ensure an even finish.

Yato wheel brush: instructions for use:

  1. Fitting: Disconnect the drill from the battery/mains. Fit the brush to the M6 fitting or in the chuck straight and centred; tighten according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

  2. Test run: Run it briefly without load; stop if there is abnormal vibration or runout.

  3. Working: Work at a shallow angle, make even sweeps and let the crimped wire do the work. Avoid point pressure and excessive heat.

  4. Breaks and cleaning: Stop regularly, remove loose material and check for wear.

  5. Maintenance: Clean off dust/swarf, dry and store in a dry place. Do not force bent wires straight.

Warnings:

  • Always wear safety glasses/a visor, protective gloves, a respirator suited to the dust level and, if necessary, ear defenders.

  • Do not exceed the speed permitted for the brush/machine; avoid imbalance.

  • Do not use a damaged or bent brush.

  • Keep flammable materials away from the work area; sparks can come from the workpiece.

  • Not for use in explosive atmospheres. Keep out of the reach of children.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ):

Why crimped wire and not knotted wire?
Crimped wire is less aggressive and leaves a more even roughness on large surfaces; knotted wire is more effective on thick rust and slag.

Can the brush be used on stainless steel?
Yes. INOX wire reduces the risk of iron contamination. Clean the surface after use.

Is the brush suitable for aluminium?
Yes, for light oxide removal and keying. Avoid excessive pressure and heat so that the surface is not scratched.

When is the brush replaced?
When the wire is unevenly worn, tufts are missing or vibration increases, replace it with a new one.

Recycling instructions:

  • Packaging: Cardboard/paper → recycling; any plastic films → plastic collection.

  • Product: Metal parts (hub, wire) → metal collection; other parts according to local rules.
