Description
This fall protection kit is designed to ensure safety when working at height. The pack contains an adjustable safety harness and a 1.8 metre shock absorber, which together form an essential part of a fall arrest system. The harness spreads the forces on the body in a fall, while the absorber slows the fall gradually by means of tear-away seams.
The harness has a D-shaped dorsal attachment point intended for attaching the shock absorber. Adjustable chest and leg straps improve the fit. The harness is made of 44 millimetre wide polyester webbing with a breaking strength of over 27 kN. The buckles on the chest strap let you hang up the harness for storage.
The shock absorber in the kit is 1.8 metres long and uses 12 millimetre thick rope. The absorber lanyard has two permanently fitted self-closing karabiners with manual locking and a maximum gate opening of 16 millimetres. This absorber connects the safety harness to the anchor point and is rated for users weighing up to 100 kg.
The parts of the system comply with safety standards such as EN 361:2002 for safety harnesses and EN 355:2002 for shock absorbers. The equipment gives protection when working more than a metre above the ground in places with no fixed railings. The service life of the system is five years from the date of first use.
Intended use:
This fall protection kit is equipment for many different tasks at height. It is especially important on sites where there is an obvious risk of falling.
- Roof work and construction: On construction sites and roof renovations where work is done more than a metre above the ground without fixed guardrails. The harness and absorber keep you connected to the anchor point.
- Maintenance and installation tasks: In maintenance work on various masts, poles or tall structures. The adjustable straps let the harness fit workers of different sizes and allow movement within a limited area.
- Industrial maintenance: Work at height in factory halls and industrial plants, such as servicing overhead cranes or inspecting the tops of racking. The shock absorber minimises the impact on the body if a fall occurs.
Package contents:
The pack contains the following parts:
- Adjustable full body harness (universal size)
- 1.8 m shock absorber with rope
- 2 pcs self-closing karabiners (with manual locking)
- Storage pouch
Features:
- Breaking strength over 27 kN: The polyester straps are designed to withstand the forces caused by a fall.
- Gradually tearing seams: The special seams of the shock absorber give way and tear in a controlled way in a fall. This softens the arresting jolt on the body.
- D-shaped dorsal attachment point: The metal ring on the back of the harness spreads the pull from the jolt over a larger area of the body.
- Self-closing karabiners: The karabiners at the ends of the absorber lanyard close automatically. They need the manual lock to be secured.
- Versatile adjustment: Adjustable chest and leg straps ensure that the harness can be adjusted to fit around the body.

Yato safety harness kit 1.8m with shock absorber instructions for use:
The service life is counted from the date the product is first used, and the maximum permitted period of use is five years. Inspect the equipment visually before each use. Look for signs of wear on the straps, cuts, unravelled seams or bent or rusted metal parts. If you notice any damage to the equipment, or if it has arrested a fall, take it out of use immediately.
Put on the harness by holding the dorsal D-ring and slipping your arms through the shoulder straps. Fasten the chest strap and adjust it to fit. Pull the leg straps between your legs and fasten them in the buckles, making sure the straps are not twisted. Adjust all the straps so that the harness fits snugly but does not restrict blood circulation. Attach the shock absorber to the D-ring on the back of the harness. Always make sure the anchor point is strong enough and, where possible, above the user to minimise the fall distance. Clean the equipment with mild soapy water and let it dry freely in a ventilated place out of direct sunlight.
Warnings:
Incorrect use of fall protection equipment can lead to hazardous situations. Note the following limitations and warnings when using the product:
- Do not modify or repair the equipment yourself. Any changes weaken how the equipment works and invalidate its compliance with the standards.
- Do not expose the product to chemicals, acids, solvents or extreme temperatures (above +58 °C or below -40 °C).
- The total weight of the user, including clothing and tools, must not exceed the maximum load of 100 kg.
- The shock absorber needs clear space below the user to work. Allow for the extension caused by the absorber tearing when calculating the fall distance.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
How long can the Yato safety harness kit 1.8m with shock absorber be used?
The service life of the safety harness and shock absorber is five years from the date they are first used, provided that the equipment has been stored and maintained as instructed and has not been subjected to the stress of a fall.
Can the absorber be shortened or lengthened by tying knots?
Never. Knotting the rope or webbing weakens its breaking strength and prevents the shock absorber from working correctly in a fall.
What parts are included in the harness kit?
The kit contains an adjustable full body harness, a 1.8 metre shock absorber with rope and two lockable karabiners for anchoring and attachment.
Recycling instructions:
When the fall protection equipment has reached the end of its service life or has been damaged, make it unusable by cutting through the straps so that it cannot be used again. The main material, polyester, is sorted as energy waste or mixed waste according to local waste regulations. The metal buckles and D-ring can be cut off and sorted into metal collection. The retail packaging is recycled at cardboard and plastic collection points according to the material instructions.
