Description
The Edma cordless suction cup 160 kg is a vacuum lifter powered by an internal battery, with a 160 × 260 mm suction base that grips smooth, rough and textured surfaces. A soft foam sealing ring presses into the shape of the surface, so a vacuum forms even on a textured surface where a rigid rubber cup will not seal. The maximum permitted load is 160 kg.
The vacuum is produced by the device’s internal electric pump. The pump stops automatically at the target level, when the digital display shows a reading of 200 kg; when the reading drops to 160 kg, the pump starts again and restores the vacuum. The grip is thus maintained throughout the work step without hand pumping.
The controls are an ON/OFF button and a separate pressure release button, which releases the grip in a controlled way when double-tapped. The power source is a built-in 12 V / 1500 mAh lithium-ion battery with a rated energy of 15 Wh. The battery is charged with a USB-C cable in about 3 hours.
The body consists of two end housings with a 120 mm handle between them, so the grip falls over the centre of gravity of the load. The enclosure rating is IP54 and the device is CE-marked. The foam seal, air pump, silicone hoses, circuit board and housing parts are available as spare parts, so wearing parts can be replaced.
Intended use and suitability:
The Edma cordless suction cup 160 kg is intended for gripping, positioning and short manual moves of panel-shaped pieces. Suitability depends on how airtight the surface is: the material must be non-porous or only slightly porous for the vacuum to hold.
- Large tiles and stone slabs: lifting, turning and positioning floor and wall tiles during installation. The foam seal also grips sandblasted, brushed and textured tiles.
- Glass, composite and metal sheets: moving and positioning thin sheets. The 160 × 260 mm suction base spreads the load over a wide area, so no point load is created in one spot.
- Joinery and interior installations: positioning doors, cabinet doors, panels and worktops. The automatic vacuum maintenance frees one hand for fixing.
- Facade and stone work: split-face and textured elements where a suction cup designed for smooth surfaces does not seal well enough.
- Servicing and repair sites: battery operation and USB-C charging make the device usable at sites where no mains power is available.
For smooth surfaces and lighter loads there is the Edma cordless suction cup 130 kg 198 mm digital display. For mechanical support of large tiles the Edma slab lifter 280-665 mm is suitable, and for carrying boards the Edma board carrying handle.

Edma cordless suction cup 160 kg instructions for use:
Preparation: Check that the foam sealing ring is intact, clean and evenly in place. Wipe dust, water and grease off the gripping point of the workpiece. Check the battery charge before starting work.
Attaching: Place the suction base over the centre of gravity of the piece and press it evenly against the surface. Start the pump with the ON/OFF button and wait until the pump stops and the display shows a reading of 200 kg.
Lifting and moving: Lift only when the display confirms the grip. Hold the handle with both hands when the load is heavy, and move it with smooth movements without jerking. Watch the display throughout the move; the pump restarts by itself if needed.
Releasing: Lower the load into a supported position before releasing the grip. Release the vacuum by pressing the pressure release button twice, and remove the device only when the suction base has released completely.
Charging: Charge the device with the USB-C cable; a full charge takes about three hours. Use an undamaged cable and charge the device in a dry place at room temperature.
Maintenance: Clean the suction base and sealing ring with a damp cloth after every shift. Replace the dust filters when they have darkened or become clogged. Store the device in the carry case so that the seal is not squeezed, as a permanent dent weakens the seal.
Warnings:
The Edma cordless suction cup 160 kg is a vacuum-based lifting device and also a battery-powered electrical device. The following warnings concern the load falling, electrical safety and handling the lithium-ion battery.
- The device must not be used for lifting or supporting people or as fall protection.
- Do not exceed a load of 160 kg. Overloading can suddenly release the grip and drop the piece.
- Never go under the load or into its fall zone. Keep bystanders away from the transport route and prepare a set-down surface for the load.
- Do not use on porous, crumbling, oily, wet or dusty surfaces where the vacuum does not hold. Check the grip on the display before each lift.
- Do not leave the load hanging from the device. For long-term support, use a mechanical safeguard.
- A damaged, torn or hardened sealing ring must not be used. Replace the seal before continuing work.
- The lithium-ion battery must not be punctured, dismantled or short-circuited, or exposed to fire or temperatures above 60 °C. Take a damaged or swollen battery out of use immediately.
- Charge only with an undamaged USB-C cable and a standard-compliant charging source. Do not charge the device when wet, on top of flammable materials or unattended.
- The IP54 enclosure protects against dust and splashing water, but the device must not be immersed in water or washed with a pressure washer.
- Do not open the body. There are live parts and a built-in battery inside the housing; servicing is done with the manufacturer’s spare parts.
- Do not use the device in a potentially explosive atmosphere. The electric pump and battery can cause sparks.
- Switch off the power before cleaning, replacing the seal and replacing the filters.
