Description
Gorilla glue 60 ml is a moisture-activated polyurethane glue that bonds dissimilar materials to each other: wood, stone, metal, ceramics, foam, glass and leather. The cured bond is 100% waterproof and withstands temperature changes indoors and outdoors.
The glue reacts with moisture on the surface and expands to about three times its volume as it cures, so it penetrates porous materials and fills small gaps. Because it expands, the glue is applied in a thin layer and the joint is clamped for 1–2 hours; full strength is reached in 24 hours.
The cured glue is light brown and can be sanded, painted, stained and varnished, so the joint disappears under the surface finish. Squeeze-out is removed once cured by chiselling or sanding; when wet, the glue stains skin and clothing, which is why protective gloves are worn.
A 60 ml bottle is enough for dozens of joints, and the bottle stays usable if you wipe the nozzle and squeeze the air out before closing the cap. For quick small joints without clamping, a better choice is Gorilla superglue 12 g, brush + nozzle, and for gluing wood indoors Gorilla wood glue 118 ml.
Intended use and suitability:
Polyurethane glue is intended for strong, weatherproof joints where the materials being glued are dissimilar or the surfaces are porous.
- Outdoor structures and gardens: gluing wood, stone and metal parts on decks, fences and furniture; the joint withstands rain and frost.
- Repairs between dissimilar materials: gluing metal to wood, ceramics to stone, foam to wood; the expanding glue fills an uneven fit.
- Carpentry: strong wood joints where the glue has to withstand moisture; the squeeze-out is sanded and the surface stained over the joint.
- Boating and damp areas: a waterproof bond for repairs to boats, jetties and bathroom furniture (not for continuous immersion without a coating).

Gorilla glue 60 ml instructions for use:
Dampen: The glue is activated by moisture. Lightly dampen one of the surfaces with water; do not soak it and do not add water to the bottle. The surfaces must be clean and free of dust. Wear protective gloves, as the glue stains skin.
Apply: Apply a thin, even layer of glue to the dry surface. The glue expands to about three times its volume, so too much glue will squeeze out of the joint.
Clamp: Press the pieces together and keep them clamped for 1–2 hours with clamps, weights or tape. Full strength in 24 hours. Remove cured squeeze-out with a chisel or by sanding; wipe off wet glue with a dry cloth.
Store: Wipe the nozzle, squeeze excess air out of the bottle and close the cap tightly. Store in a cool, dry place; an opened bottle keeps best upright.
Warnings:
- Contains diisocyanates (MDI): may cause allergic skin and respiratory symptoms. Wear protective gloves and ventilate well; avoid breathing the vapours.
- From 24 August 2023, professional use of diisocyanates requires training under Regulation (EU) 2020/1149 (concentration ≥ 0.1%).
- Harmful if swallowed: it expands in the stomach. Seek medical attention immediately; do not induce vomiting.
- Stains skin and clothing; cured glue cannot be removed with solvents, only mechanically.
- Keep out of the reach of children and pets: a particular hazard to dogs.
- Not for food contact.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
Why does Gorilla glue 60 ml expand, and how should I allow for it? Polyurethane reacts with moisture and grows to about three times its volume; apply a thin layer and clamp the joint for 1–2 hours, and sand off the squeeze-out once cured.
Is Gorilla glue waterproof for outdoor use? Yes, the cured bond is 100% waterproof and suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
Which materials can Gorilla glue bond? Wood, stone, metal, ceramics, foam, glass and leather, including to each other.
How long does the glue need to be clamped? 1–2 hours; full strength in 24 hours.
Can the cured glue be painted or stained? Yes, the light brown glue can be sanded, painted, stained and varnished.
How do I get the glue off my skin? Wipe off wet glue straight away; cured glue wears off the skin in a few days, which is why you should wear protective gloves.
Recycling instructions:
Sort the cardboard packaging into carton collection. An empty, fully cured Gorilla glue 60 ml bottle can be sorted into plastic collection; a bottle containing liquid glue is hazardous waste and must be taken to the municipal hazardous waste collection point. Do not pour glue into the drain.
