Description
The Idealgas 50 mm LPG burner is a showcase of Italian engineering, designed to meet the challenges of industry, construction and demanding maintenance. This tool is made to the EN ISO 9021 standard and is more than a gas burner: it is a precision instrument optimised to deliver a massive 53 kW heat output in a controlled and safe way. Every component of the device is chosen to withstand continuous use, and every single burner has passed strict factory testing before reaching the market.
The heart of the burner is its 50 mm diameter burner head, shaped to produce an aerodynamically stable, directed flame. This makes it an excellent tool for work on large surface areas, such as:
-
Installing bitumen membranes and roofing felt, where even, powerful heat is critical to ensure adhesion.
-
Preheating and drying concrete and metal structures, which speeds up work stages, especially in Nordic winter conditions.
-
Weed control and surface sterilisation over large areas without chemicals.
The burner is designed to work flexibly with both butane and propane. To reach the optimal 53 kW output we recommend propane, as it keeps a high discharge pressure even at freezing point, ensuring uninterrupted work whatever the season.
In professional use, a tool must be not only powerful but also effortless to use. The Idealgas burner has a finely adjustable flame selector that lets the user set the size of the base flame precisely to suit the job. The design pays particular attention to the tightness and durability of the connections: the burner is designed for use with an 8 mm high-pressure gas hose and needs a pressure regulator that delivers a nominal pressure of 3 bar.
By choosing an Idealgas product, you invest in a device that meets Europe’s strictest safety standards. The durable metal body and heat-resistant materials of the burner guarantee a long service life, even with daily use in demanding conditions. It is a reliable partner for professionals who will not compromise on quality, speed and safety.
Intended use:
- Insulation and bitumen work: The burner is an essential tool in roof installation, where the bitumen membrane must be heated until molten to bond. The 53 kW output ensures that even large rolls can be laid quickly and evenly.
- Drying and preheating surfaces: On construction sites, the burner is often used for fast drying and preheating of concrete surfaces, formwork or metal structures before further treatment such as painting or coating. The high heat output removes ice and moisture efficiently even in winter conditions. Using it with propane guarantees a high flame temperature, which speeds up work stages significantly and ensures better adhesion of coatings, making it an irreplaceable tool for all installation work done in Nordic conditions.
- Agriculture and industrial maintenance: In industry, the burner can be used to free seized bolts and parts with heat, and in agriculture for weed control and surface sterilisation, for example.

Idealgas LPG burner instructions for use:
1. Connect the burner to the 8 mm gas hose and secure it with a hose clamp.
2. Connect the hose to the pressure regulator and gas cylinder in line with national regulations.
3. Open the gas cylinder valve and check that the connections are tight (for example with soapy water).
4. Open the burner tap slightly and light the flame with a safe lighter.
5. Adjust the flame size with the tap
6. When you have finished, first close the gas cylinder valve and let the gas in the hose burn off before closing the burner tap.
Warnings:
- Use the device only in well-ventilated spaces or outdoors.
- Always wear suitable hot-work protection, such as gloves, safety glasses and clothing.
- Do not leave a lit burner unattended.
- Make sure the gas hose is intact and complies with the applicable standards.
- Use only approved hose clamps; do not use tape or wire to secure the connections.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
Question: Can I use this with an ordinary 11 kg household cylinder?
Answer: Yes, but you need a suitable pressure regulator (3 bar) in between and an 8 mm gas hose with connectors.
Question: Can the burner be used to weld copper pipes?
Answer: The burner is suitable for soft soldering and heating large surfaces, but the 50 mm nozzle is usually too large for precise pipe welding.
Question: Why do you recommend propane instead of butane?
Answer: Propane holds its pressure better in cold conditions and gives a higher combustion temperature, which is critical for reaching the 53 kW output.
Recycling instructions:
The product is made mainly of metal and must be taken to metal collection at the end of its life. Remove any plastic parts and sort them according to local instructions.
