Description
These rotating-model tile levelling clips are a central part of a tile levelling system designed to ensure a perfectly level result in tiling work. The pack contains 250 single-use clips (also known as “clips” or “feet”) that are placed under the tiles during installation. The system efficiently eliminates height differences between tiles, known as “lippage”, which is a common challenge especially when laying large floor tiles.
Using levelling clips speeds up installation considerably, as it reduces the need to adjust and tap the tiles by hand. The foot of the clip stays under the tile in the tile adhesive, and the upright part rises through the tile joint. When the tightening piece of the system is screwed onto the clip, it pulls the adjacent tiles precisely to the same level. This is critical especially in floor installations, where even small unevenness feels unpleasant to walk on and shows clearly in indirect lighting.
The product is designed to serve both demanding professionals and DIY builders who want to achieve a flawless result efficiently. The upright part of the clips also automatically sets the width of the tile joint, but separate tile spacers can also be used when needed to get a wider joint. After installation and once the adhesive has dried, the visible part of the clip is snapped off, and the base stays permanently hidden under the tiling.
Intended use:
The tile levelling clips are intended for use as part of a rotating levelling system when laying various ceramic tiles, clinker tiles and stone tiles.
- Floor tiling: Particularly important on floors, where levelness is both an aesthetic and a functional requirement. Prevents trip hazards and toes catching on the edges of the tiles.
- Wall tiling: Ensures straight, level wall surfaces, which is essential especially under spotlighting, which easily emphasises even small defects.
- Large-format tiles: An indispensable aid when laying large, heavy tiles, where the adhesive settling and the tile warping easily cause height differences without mechanical levelling.
Package contents:
- 250 pcs rotating-model levelling clips (base/clip)
Features:
- Level result: Eliminates height differences between tiles by mechanical tightening.
- Rotating mechanism: Designed for use with rotating tightening caps (note the package contents).
- Single-use base: The foot of the clip stays in the adhesive, and the top is snapped off after use.
- Integrated joint spacers: The stem of the clip also acts as a joint cord, setting the minimum joint width.
- Installation speed: Significantly reduces the time spent on installing and levelling.
Technical specifications:

Instructions for use:
Follow these steps to get the best result when using the levelling system:
- Spread the tile adhesive evenly on the substrate using a notched trowel that suits the tile. Make sure there is sufficient adhesive coverage.
- Lay the first tile in place. Push the foot of the levelling clip under the edge of the tile so that the upright part of the clip rises up at the side of the tile. Place the clips closely enough depending on the size of the tile (usually approx. 2 pcs per side, close to the corners).
- Lay the next tile next to it, tight against the upright part of the clip. The upright part sets the width of the joint between the tiles.
- Screw the tightening piece of the system (note the package contents) onto the threaded upright part of the clip. Tighten the piece until the adjacent tiles are level. Avoid overtightening.
- Repeat the process over the whole area to be tiled.
- Let the tile adhesive dry completely according to the manufacturer’s instructions (usually at least 24 hours). Do not remove the clips before the adhesive is dry.
- When the adhesive has dried, remove the tightening pieces by unscrewing them. Then break off the upright part of the clip by striking it lightly from the side (with a rubber mallet or by kicking it, for example) in the direction of the joint. The clip is designed to break below the surface of the tile.
- Sweep away the broken parts. The base of the clip stays hidden in the joint.
- Grout the tiles as usual using a high-quality grout and a grout float. Finally, clean the tiled surface.
Warnings:
- Always make sure there is enough tile adhesive under the tile before tightening the clip. An empty space under the tile can cause the tile to crack.
- Do not overtighten the levelling system, so that the clip does not break prematurely.
- Do not try to break off the clips before the tile adhesive has dried completely. Wet adhesive can give way, so the tile can move or the clip does not break at the right point.
- Always strike the clip off in the direction of the joint, not against it, so that the edge of the tile is not damaged.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
Does the pack include the tightening pieces?
This pack contains 250 pcs levelling clips (bases). Check the package contents and, if necessary, get compatible rotating tightening pieces separately if they are not included in this particular product pack.
Can the levelling clips be reused?
No. The levelling clips are single-use. Their base stays under the tiling in the tile adhesive, and the top is snapped off after use. The tightening pieces (possibly sold separately) are usually reusable.
Do I need separate tile spacers?
The stem of the levelling clip automatically creates a joint of a certain width. If you want a wider joint than the clip creates, you can also use traditional tile spacers.
Why should the clips be snapped off only after the adhesive has dried?
If the clips are snapped off while the adhesive is wet, the tiles can still move and lose their levelness. In addition, wet adhesive does not support the break point of the clip, so it may not break cleanly below the tile surface.
Recycling instructions:
The snapped-off tops of the levelling clips are plastic and can be disposed of as energy waste or in plastic recycling according to local waste management regulations. The part left under the tiles needs no separate action.
