Description
Made of flexible material, the Painter paint tray black is a versatile tool for applying various coatings. The paint tray lets you transfer paint safely and evenly from the retail tin to the paint roller or brush. The flexible plastic construction of the tray is designed specifically to prevent the material cracking during work, which extends the life of the product.
The tray has a traditional shape with a deeper paint well and a sloping, ribbed draining area. The paint roller is rolled against this ribbed part, so that excess paint is removed and the liquid spreads evenly into the whole pile of the roller. This step is essential for getting an even coat on the surface without unsightly runs or splashes.
This product range offers flexibility for different needs, as the Painter paint tray black is available in four sizes. The range includes Mini (12x20cm), Medium (15x29cm), Large (26x34cm) and Extra large (32x34cm). The different tray sizes give seamless compatibility with different roller widths, from small radiator rollers to large floor and wall rollers.
The feet of the tray hold it firmly in place on flat surfaces, which prevents accidental tipping and paint damage. The black colour hides staining from dark paints, and the smooth plastic surface means the tray can be cleaned according to the instructions between painting projects.
Intended use:
- Loading paint onto the roller: The tray acts as an intermediate paint reservoir, against whose ribbed surface the roller is rolled to get the right amount of paint.
- Brush painting: Can also be used when working with a brush, making it easier to dose paint than straight from a deep paint tin.
- Different coatings: Suitable for water-based and solvent-based paints, varnishes and wood stains.

Painter paint tray black instructions for use:
Place the paint tray on a flat, firm and level surface. If needed, put protective paper under the tray in case of splashes. Stir the paint thoroughly in its original tin and pour it calmly into the deeper paint well of the tray. Avoid overfilling the tray so that paint does not rise over the ribbed draining area.
Dip the paint roller lightly into the paint well. Lift the roller onto the draining area and roll it back and forth against the ribbed surface. Repeat until the paint has been absorbed evenly along the whole roller and the roller does not drip when lifted. When you have finished painting, scrape the remaining paint back into the tin. Clean the tray immediately with the thinner recommended by the paint manufacturer (water or solvent) and a brush. Let the tray dry in an airy place.
Warnings:
- Avoid keeping very strong solvents that attack plastic in the tray for long periods.
- Note the risk of slipping if paint is splashed or spilled on the floor.
- Make sure the tray is not placed on an uneven surface where it could tip over.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
How do I choose the right size of tray?
Choose the tray size according to the width of the paint roller used. The Mini tray suits rollers under 10 cm, the Medium tray 10-15 cm rollers and the Large trays 18-25 cm wide rollers.
Is the Painter paint tray black resistant to solvents?
Yes, the tray is made of plastic that withstands the most common paint thinners and solvents used in cleaning.
Why is there a pattern on the bottom of the tray?
The ribbed pattern is the draining area; its purpose is to remove excess paint from the roller and ensure that the paint spreads evenly over the surface of the roller.
Recycling instructions:
When the tray is taken out of use, it must first be cleaned thoroughly. A completely clean, dry plastic tray can be sorted into plastic collection. If the tray contains undried paint, varnish or solvent residue, it should be taken to a suitable hazardous waste collection point according to local waste regulations.
