Description
The Kapro Bambino 842G is a compact green-beam cross line laser that projects one horizontal line and one vertical line. The centre point of the cross acts as a reliable reference in all alignments, and the green 510–530 nm beam improves visibility in lit indoor spaces. The device is designed for quick set-up and effortless moves, even on cramped installation sites.
Self-levelling works within ±3° with a pendulum mechanism. When the device is outside the levelling range, a clear alert (flashing/indicator light) prevents incorrect markings. The typical accuracy is ≤±0.4 mm/m, which is enough for fitting mouldings, furniture installation, aligning sockets and other interior work.
The flexible tripod supplied attaches to bars, railings, ladders or shelves. This frees your hands for work and needs no separate stand. The device runs on two AA batteries, which makes power management easy anywhere. The body is IP54 splash- and dust-protected for indoor working conditions.
Intended use:
-
Furniture and interior installations: The cross line gives a straight, precise reference for installing wall cabinets, display cabinets, TV units and picture groups. With the flexible tripod, the laser is easily set at the right height by fixing the legs to a railing or the edge of a shelf. This reduces the number of measurements and speeds up alignment, as the horizontal and vertical lines are visible at the same time over a distance of at least a few metres.
-
Mouldings and door frames: The horizontal line acts as a uniform starting level for skirting boards and top mouldings from one room to another. The vertical line makes it easier to check the straightness of frames, corners and edge profiles. Manual tilt allows a slight incline to be used in stepped structures, for example, giving a deliberately non-level reference line.
-
Electrical and small installations: The centre point of the cross acts as a quickly movable “0 point” for marking sockets, switches and cable routes. Risers between ceiling and floor are easy to align along the vertical line. The flexible tripod also attaches to cable trays, so the laser can be left projecting the line while your hands are busy.
-
Tiling and surface markings: With the horizontal line you set the starting height and the upper limits of the rows; the vertical line ensures straight joint spacing. The green beam is clearly visible under bright work lights, which improves readability and reduces errors, especially on light surfaces.

Kapro Bambino 842G instructions for use:
-
Setting up and levelling: Place the device on the flexible tripod and fix the legs firmly to the object (railing, pipe, shelf). Keep the device within the ±3° self-levelling range; wait for the line/cross to settle before marking.
-
Choosing the beams: Switch on the horizontal, vertical or cross line. Use only the lines you need to save the batteries.
-
Manual tilt: Activate manual mode (long press). The line flashes or the indicator light shows that self-levelling is not active. Set the incline you want (e.g. falls) and make the markings.
-
Height and centre point: Line up the centre point of the cross with the reference (e.g. the middle of a socket). Move the device in small steps until the horizontal and vertical lines cross at the point you want.
-
Maintenance: Clean the optics with a lint-free cloth. Remove dust and splashes from the body. Store in a dry, soft case. Remove the batteries if the device will not be used for a long time.
Warnings:
-
Do not look directly into the laser beam or its strong reflections.
-
Make sure the tripod is firmly fixed; if the device falls, it can damage the optics and affect accuracy.
-
IP54 is not protection against immersion: avoid working in the rain and pressure washing.
-
Do not use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
-
Remove the AA batteries for long-term storage.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
What beams does the 842G produce?
One horizontal line and one vertical line, which form a cross line; the centre point of the cross acts as a quick reference point.
Can I use manual tilt?
Yes. In manual mode, the lines can be tilted deliberately; self-levelling is then not active, and this is indicated by flashing/the indicator light.
What are the accuracy and range?
The typical accuracy is ≤±0.4 mm/m and the indoor range approx. 20–30 m depending on the background and lighting.
What power does the device use?
2×AA batteries, which are easy to change on site. We recommend high-quality alkaline batteries.
How is the device mounted without a stand?
The flexible tripod attaches to pipes, railings and shelves. Make sure the legs are tightened firmly to prevent slipping.
