Description
The Schwan paintbrush 30 x 100 mm is a heavy-duty surface treatment tool designed especially for efficient treatment of large surfaces. The dimensions of the bristle section (thickness 30 mm and width 100 mm) give it a considerably higher capacity than a basic brush. The large amount of bristle soaks up plenty of liquid material, such as primer or waterproofing compound, which reduces the number of “dips” needed and speeds up the work significantly.
The product uses light-coloured bristles, which are traditionally known for their good durability and their ability to release material evenly onto the substrate. This type of brush is ideal for rough, porous surfaces such as concrete, filler or brick, into which primers must be worked carefully. The product is made in Germany to high quality standards, which shows in the reliable fixing of the bristles and the overall durability of the tool.
The handle of the brush is shaped to give the firm grip needed when working with heavier compounds or on large wall and floor surfaces. It is suitable for professional use on construction sites and in demanding renovation projects.

Schwan paintbrush instructions for use:
Dip the brush into the material so that the bristles are wetted to about halfway. Do not immerse the brush up to the metal ferrule, so that it is easier to clean. Apply the material to the surface with crosswise strokes to make sure the primer or waterproofing gets into all the pores of the surface. For priming, work the material firmly into the substrate.
Clean the brush immediately after use with the thinner for the material used (usually water for waterproofing and primers, or white spirit for solvent-based materials). Shake off excess water and hang the brush to dry with the bristles pointing down.
Warnings:
- Chemicals: Always wear protective gloves and, if necessary, a respirator when working with strong primers or waterproofing materials.
- Loose bristles: A few bristles may come out of a new brush at first. Brush it against your hand or sandpaper before first use to remove loose hairs.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
Is this brush suitable for applying roofing tar?
Yes, the brush is sturdy enough for applying bitumen-based materials and roofing tar, but note that cleaning bitumen out of the brush can be difficult.
Are the bristles natural or synthetic?
The term “light-coloured bristles” (helle Borste) here typically refers to natural bristles or a blend chosen specifically for its ability to absorb liquid.
Recycling instructions:
A dried, hardened brush is disposed of as mixed waste.
