Description
The Kapro 962G Prolaser® Multi-Beam Orbital is a green-beam plane laser with a 360° horizontal line laser, one vertical line and two plumb points (up and down). Together they cover typical levelling and alignment tasks as well as vertical alignment and point transfer in the floor–ceiling direction. The green beam improves visibility indoors compared with red lasers. The accuracy is ±0.3 mm/m, and self-levelling works within a ±3° range with a pendulum suspension.
The device offers a pulse mode that lets you connect the laser to a receiver (e.g. Kapro 894-04G) for outdoor use and long working distances. The range is up to 30 m without a receiver and 60 m with a receiver. IP65 protection guarantees dust-tightness and protection against low-pressure water jets, so the device suits demanding site conditions.
Two operating modes support use: automatic self-levelling, in which the lines and points lock to level quickly, and manual mode for slope alignment (e.g. falls and steps). In manual mode, the beams flash to indicate that the device is not levelling itself. A beam selection cycle (all / horizontal / vertical / plumb points) is also available, which saves the battery and makes the lines clearer to see.
There are two mounting options: 1/4″ and 5/8″ tripod threads, and a multi-purpose magnetic bracket that quickly attaches the laser to steel studs or scaffolding. The operating temperature range is typically −10…+45 °C. The visibility and direction of the device are easy to confirm with the laser receiver supplied.
Power supply depending on the package contents: the manufacturer’s standard delivery includes 4×AA batteries and a rechargeable battery. The device also works with an outdoor receiver in pulse mode. It is stored and transported in a hard protective case.

Intended use:
-
Bathroom and tiling installations: The 360° horizontal line makes it easier to start rows and set slopes. Manual mode allows falls to be marked on floors and surfaces, while the vertical line helps ensure that corners and shower walls are straight. With the plumb points you transfer a point from the floor to the ceiling, for penetrations, for example.
-
Drywall construction and stud walls: The vertical line and plumb points speed up the alignment of frames, door openings and corners. The magnetic bracket attaches to steel studs without separate clamps. With a receiver, the 60 m range is enough for long alignments in open spaces.
-
Interior and moulding work: The 360° horizontal line gives a continuous reference for plinths, window sills and curtain lines all around the room. The green beam is easy to see in bright indoor spaces, which speeds up measurement marking and installation.
-
Outdoor work and yards: Pulse mode + receiver allow levelling and alignment outdoors in bright light, when visibility to the naked eye is weaker. The IP65 rating protects against dust and splashes in the changing conditions of the site.

Kapro 962G instructions for use:
Getting started and self-levelling: Place the device on a stable surface or tripod. Switch on with the slide switch; in automatic mode, the device levels itself within ±3° and projects the 360° horizontal line, the vertical line and the plumb points. Wait for it to settle before marking.
Choosing the beams: Choose the combination you want (all / horizontal / vertical / plumb points) with short presses to improve visibility and reduce power consumption.
Manual mode (slope): Press the beam selector for approx. 3 s to activate manual mode. The beams flash every 3 s to indicate that levelling is not in use. Set the slope you want and make the markings.
Pulse mode and receiver: Activate pulse mode for outdoor use or long distances. Connect a receiver, e.g. the Kapro 894-04G; range up to 60 m. Follow the receiver’s instructions for alignment.
Maintenance: Wipe the optics with a soft, lint-free cloth. Protect the device from impacts and moisture; dry it after use. Check the calibration regularly with a field calibration test as described in the instructions for use.
Warnings:
-
Do not look directly into the laser beam; wear safety glasses if necessary and watch out for passers-by.
-
Make sure the device is properly fixed; if it tips over, it can damage the optics and reduce accuracy.
-
Do not use in potentially explosive atmospheres or in heavy rain for longer than IP65 allows.
-
Remove the batteries or rechargeable battery for long-term storage.
-
Follow the site safety instructions and watch out for reflections from shiny surfaces.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
What beams does the 962G produce?
One 360° horizontal line, one vertical line and two plumb points (up/down).
Can the device be used outdoors?
Yes. In pulse mode and with a receiver, the range is up to 60 m. The IP65 rating protects against dust and water jets.
What are the accuracy and self-levelling range of the device?
Accuracy ±0.3 mm/m and self-levelling ±3°.
Does the device work with a rechargeable battery?
The standard package includes 4×AA batteries; some sets have a rechargeable battery. Check the package contents when ordering.
Is it suitable for marking slopes?
Yes, manual mode allows the line to be tilted, for example to mark floor falls. Toolcat
