The Vorel 74581 is an earmuff hearing protector that gives SNR 20.4 dB attenuation for general noise environments. Thanks to its metal-free construction, it is suitable for places where metal parts may be harmful or prohibited. The adjustable headband and movable joints help fine-tune the fit for users of different sizes.
The headband padding and soft, skin-friendly ear cushions improve comfort during long-term use. The dimensions of the cushions (approx. A 30 mm, B 60 mm) are designed to surround the ear with a sufficient area, which makes attenuation more effective and reduces pressure points.
The cups and headband are made of ABS, PVC and POM combined with foam padding. The product belongs to personal protective equipment category II. The construction supports balanced clamping against the head, giving the user a combination of usability and effective attenuation.
The SNR value makes it easy to size the attenuation: for example, in a 104.4 dB environment, SNR 20.4 dB reduces exposure to about 84 dB when the protector is used correctly and without interruption for the whole exposure time.

Vorel 74581 instructions for use:
Adjust the length of the headband before use so that the cups cover the ears completely and the cushions touch the head all round. Position the cups symmetrically; make sure no hair, glasses arms or headwear are left between the cushion and the skin, causing leaks. Keep the protector on your ears for the whole time you are exposed to noise; removing it for even a few minutes weakens the average level of protection.
Clean the cushions and the visible surfaces of the cups regularly with a damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Do not use solvents or abrasive agents. Dry carefully in the shade before storing. Check the elasticity of the cushions and the fit of the cups; replace worn cushions. Store in a dry, clean place, protected from direct sunlight.
Size the protection by the SNR value in relation to the level of the noise source. For example, in an environment of about 104 dB, SNR 20.4 dB brings exposure to about 84 dB when the protector is used correctly without interruption.

What noise levels is SNR 20.4 dB sufficient for?
For general working environments where the equivalent level is about 95–100 dB. The aim is to reduce exposure to no more than 85 dB. If necessary, choose a higher SNR.
Can I use it with safety glasses?
Yes, but make sure the arms are as thin as possible and the cushion presses evenly. Leaks weaken attenuation, so always check the fit.
Does the product have metal parts?
Its construction is metal-free. This is useful in environments where metal parts can cause interference or are prohibited.
How do I care for it and when do I replace the cushions?
Clean regularly with mild soap and replace when the surface of the cushion cracks, its elasticity weakens or comfort suffers. Regular inspection extends its life.
