Description

Vorel tape measure 3 m is a tape measure with a 16 mm wide steel tape. The tape has a gold-coloured lacquer finish and metric graduation, and the measure belongs to accuracy class II.

The end of the tape has a sliding hook fastened with three rivets. The movement of the hook equals the hook’s material thickness, so the same measure shows the correct result in both internal and external measurements without separate correction.

The case is yellow plastic (PVC) reinforced with TPR coatings. The soft coating cushions drops and improves grip. The case has a belt clip and a wrist strap.

The measure has two locks: the slide lock holds the tape in place permanently, and the button on the bottom locks the tape for as long as the button is held down. The combination suits work in which the tape is pulled out and released again in quick succession.

Intended use and suitability:

The tape measure is used to measure lengths and distances of up to 3 metres.

Internal measurements: door openings, drawers and frame gaps; the hook is pressed against the surface.

Vorel tape measure 3 m x 16 mm instructions for use:

External measurement: Hook the end over the edge of the piece and pull out the tape until the hook sits tightly against the edge. Read the result on the tape scale.

Internal measurement: Press the hook against the surface and push the tape to the other side of the opening. The sliding hook moves by its own material thickness, so the scale shows the correct internal dimension.

Locking and maintenance: Lock the tape with the slide lock when the measure is to stay extended, or hold the button down for momentary locking. Let the tape retract in a controlled way, as a tape that snaps back freely kinks and the hook gets damaged. Wipe the tape dry after use and store it in a dry place.

Warnings:

Do not let the tape retract freely from its full length: the tape kinks and the hook can snap onto your fingers.
The tape edges are sharp, so pull the tape out by the case and do not let it slide through your hand.
Do not use a kinked or worn tape; the kink gives incorrect readings and breaks.
The tape conducts electricity: do not measure near live parts.
Protect the case from drops onto concrete and keep out of the reach of children.
