Description
Yato cordless angle grinder 6 speeds 2×4 Ah (YT-828295) is a brushless angle grinder from the Yato 18V battery system for 125 mm discs. The speed is 3000–8500 min⁻¹, selected electronically from six constant-speed stages. The set includes two 4 Ah Li-Ion batteries and a charger.
The disc bore is 22.2 mm and the spindle thread is M14; the disc can be up to 6 mm thick. The permitted peripheral speed of the discs must be at least 80 m/s. The gear housing is low, so the grinder can reach fillet welds, and the gearbox torque is sufficient to press the grinder against the workpiece when cutting and grinding.
The speed selection panel is protected against dust and moisture. The soft start extends the grinder’s service life, and the openings in the bottom of the body protect the brushless motor from metal chips attracted by its magnet. The electrical protection class is III and the IP rating IPX0.
The charger charges the 4 Ah battery in about 2 hours (21 V DC, 2.4 A, 60 W), and with two batteries one can be charged while working. The batteries have a charge level indicator and fit all tools in the Yato 18V system. The sound pressure level is 89.0 dB(A), the sound power level 97.0 dB(A) and the vibration 7.28 m/s².
Uses and suitability:
The Yato cordless angle grinder 6 speeds 2×4 Ah is designed for grinding and cutting metals as well as brick, natural and artificial stone, concrete and glazes with discs chosen for the material. It is not used for sanding or cutting wood or for polishing. Suitable accessories include, for example, the Yato cutting disc for metal, Yato flap disc 125 mm and Yato knotted cup brush M14 75 mm stainless steel. The same grinder without batteries is the Yato cordless angle grinder 18V 125 mm, body only.
- Grinding welds: the low gear housing reaches fillet welds; grind with the side of the grinding disc at an angle of no more than 30°.
- Metal cutting: profiles, pipes and sheets are cut with a cutting disc in a straight line with the disc perpendicular to the workpiece.
- Stone and ceramics: with diamond discs for dry cutting and grinding with a segment gap of no more than 10 mm.
- Rust and paint removal: wire brushes and sanding discs at low speed stages, grinding discs at high stages.

Yato cordless angle grinder 6 speeds 2×4 Ah user manual:
Preparation: always remove the battery before changing the disc and making adjustments. Fit the disc guard around the spindle so that the protected part is on the side of the user’s hand, and screw the auxiliary handle into the head of the grinder. Never use the grinder without the guard.
Fitting the disc: place the upper flange on the spindle, the disc on the flange and screw on the lower flange. Press the spindle lock and tighten the flange with the wrench. The flange position depends on whether the disc is up to or over 3.2 mm thick. Test run the grinder without load for about a minute.
Battery and speed: charge the batteries in the charger (red LED = charging, green = full). Push the battery into place until the latch locks. Select the speed stage with the panel button: low stages for brushes and sandpaper, high stages for grinding discs.
Working: secure the workpiece in a vice or with clamps. Hold the grinder with both hands and let the disc reach full speed before contact. Grind at an angle of no more than 30°, moving the grinder evenly; cut with the disc perpendicular, in a straight line, and guide the grinder in the direction of disc rotation. The outer surface temperature must not exceed 60 °C.
Maintenance: the disc keeps rotating for a moment after switching off and may be hot. Clean the housing and ventilation openings with compressed air (max. 0.3 MPa), a brush or a dry cloth without chemicals. Repairs are carried out by an authorised service centre.
Warnings:
- Always wear eye protection or a face shield, hearing protection, a respirator and protective gloves; the sound power level is 97 dB(A).
- Use only discs with a permitted peripheral speed of at least 80 m/s and a permitted speed of at least 8500 min⁻¹; do not use damaged discs.
- Do not use saw chain discs, toothed discs or worn discs from larger machines.
- Risk of kickback: do not jam the disc, do not stand in line with the cut and always use the auxiliary handle.
- Sparks can start a fire; do not work near flammable materials.
- Hold the grinder by its insulated handles if the disc may hit hidden electrical wiring; watch out for gas pipes when making deep cuts.
- The disc and the workpiece get hot; let them cool before touching.
- Charge the batteries only with the supplied charger in a dry place under adult supervision; do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
