Description
Yato cordless impact wrench 18V 250 Nm set (YT-82802) includes an impact wrench with a brushless motor, a 3 Ah Li-Ion battery, a fast charger, an adapter and a storage case. The wrench has a 1/2″ (12.7 mm) square drive for sockets, and the maximum torque is 250 Nm. The supplied 1/2″ → 1/4″ hex adapter turns the wrench into an impact driver for bits.
Two power levels are selected on the control panel: a lower speed of 0–1600 min⁻¹ with 180 Nm and a higher speed of 0–2600 min⁻¹ with 250 Nm. The impact rate is up to 4400 min⁻¹. The tangential impact presses the bit or socket firmly onto the fastener, so the wrench can also undo screws with damaged heads.
When rotating anticlockwise, a pulsed removal modeis available, in which each press of the trigger turns the spindle briefly to loosen seized nuts and bolts. The trigger adjusts the speed steplessly, and the spindle brake stops the spindle immediately on release. The left LED column on the control panel shows the battery charge level.
The short body makes it easier to work in tight spots and overhead. The wrench has an LED work light and a metal belt hook. It weighs 1.3 kg, with insulation class III and IP rating IPX0. The sound pressure level is 86 dB(A) and the vibration 7.58 m/s², so hearing protection and breaks are necessary.
Uses and suitability:
The impact wrench is designed for tightening and loosening bolts and nuts with sockets and, via the adapter, for driving screws with bits. The impact mechanism produces considerably more torque than an ordinary cordless drill.
- Vehicle and machine maintenance: Loosening wheel nuts and working on suspension parts and brake disc fixings; final tightening is done with a torque wrench.
- Electrical and plumbing installations: Series fixing of cable trays, brackets and pipe clamps with sockets or bits.
- Woodwork and roofing: Driving long wood screws with the adapter and a bit without pressing hard.
- Maintenance: Loosening seized and rusted bolts with the pulsed removal mode.
The set battery fits other Yato 18 V tools, such as the Yato cordless drill 18V 45Nm, brushless motor, body only. For higher torque, use the Yato cordless impact wrench 18V 850Nm, body only, and as an extra battery, for example, the Yato 18V Li-Ion battery. 1/4″ impact bits fit the adapter of the Yato cordless impact wrench 18V 250 Nm set, such as the Yato impact bit set 37-piece.

Yato cordless impact wrench 18V 250 Nm user manual:
Charging: The battery is supplied uncharged. Clean the battery terminals, insert the battery into the charger and plug the charger into a socket. The red LED is lit during charging; the green LED indicates a full battery after about 1.5 hours.
Fitting the socket: Remove the battery. Choose an impact socket that fits the fastener and press it onto the 1/2″ drive. For bits, fit the adapter to the drive and a 1/4″ impact bit to the adapter. Screw the nut or bolt onto the thread by hand for at least two turns.
Tightening: Select the direction of rotation and the power level on the control panel. Insert the battery, grip the wrench with both hands and place the socket on the fastener before starting. When the impact mechanism starts hammering, release the trigger; continued tightening can break the fastener. Check the final torque with a torque wrench.
Loosening: Set the direction of rotation to anticlockwise and select the pulsed mode if necessary. The fastener cannot be loosened if its tightening torque exceeds the maximum torque of the wrench.
Maintenance: Remove the battery and clean the body and ventilation openings with compressed air (max. 0.3 MPa), a brush or a dry cloth. Store the battery at 0–30 °C at about 70% charge.
Warnings:
- Read the user manual before use. Wear safety glasses, hearing protection and protective gloves.
- Remove the battery before changing the socket, adapter or bit and before maintenance.
- Hold the wrench by its insulated gripping surfaces if the fastener may hit hidden electrical wiring.
- Use only impact sockets and bits of the correct size; the wrong size can damage the socket or fastener.
- Do not overtighten threaded fasteners; the thread can break.
- The outer surface temperature must not exceed 60 °C. Take breaks because of vibration exposure.
- Charge the battery only with the supplied charger in a dry place under adult supervision; do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
- Not for use by children. Not water-protected (IPX0); not for use in rain.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
Which sockets does the Yato cordless impact wrench 18V 250 Nm set use? 1/2″ (12.7 mm) square drive impact sockets. With the supplied adapter, 1/4″ hex impact bits can be used.
Can the wrench loosen wheel nuts? Yes, when the tightening torque of the nut does not exceed the maximum torque of the wrench, 250 Nm. The torque needed to loosen depends on the condition of the fastener, and final tightening is always done with a torque wrench.
What does the pulsed mode do? When rotating anticlockwise, each press of the trigger turns the spindle briefly, which helps to loosen seized nuts and bolts in a controlled way.
How long does it take to charge the battery? Charging a 3 Ah battery takes about 1.5 hours with the supplied charger.
Does the battery fit other Yato 18 V tools? Yes, the batteries in the Yato 18 V system are mutually compatible.
